I've spent all my holidays in my village, trying to respect the rules given by the Health authorities. Living in the countryside allows going for walks in the surroundings. In one of these walks I found some painted trees as well as different shapes made with stones. Later I discovered that it is called Land Art and that it is made by a florist who lives in the village.
Josep M.

This picture was taken this summer in La Pineda, Tarragona. I spent most of my summer there with my family because, as we have an apartment, we don't usually go anywhere else during the summer, specially this year with all the coronavirus issue.
My anecdote is that, the day the picture was taken, we went to a communion. There in the apartment, we know almost everyone and I have a group of friends. Due to the pandemic, the little brother of a friend of Valencia wasn't able to recieve his first communion in April as it was planned. Therefore, his family decided to celebrate this special date during the summer. After the ceremony, we all had dinner at the beach. It was a great day and also a little weird: in the photos in the church we all appear with our masks on!

I cannot write about my summer getaway because the truth is that we haven’t gone anywhere for this year’s holidays. My eldest son was working, so we agreed to stay home supporting him. Although, I have to admit, that we went on a weekend outing. We decided to go on a trip to visit my brother-in-law and his family. This photograph is taken at my brother-in-law's house. The place is located near Banyoles, in Girona. They bought this house completely shattered and little by little, they're in the process of fixing it. So, after a long time without seeing them because of the lockdown, we went to stay with them and to check on the progress they were making with the house. This was the only weekend we left home during the whole summer. When I joined work and my workmates asked me what I had done during the summer, I told them I had stayed at home, not keeping in mind that my youngest son, who has a YouTube channel, posted a vlog about this weekend.

One of my workmates had seen the vlog, and as soon as I said we hadn't been anywhere, she said: “That's a lie. I've seen your son's vlog and you've been to Girona”. Well, here you have an example of the dangers of social media.

I guess I was lucky enough to get away for a couple of weeks, 8 days of which were spent in Asturias with my younger daughter. Now I have to admit I'd not been to Asturias before, but it was well worth the wait. The weather was great, in fact, and the day we went to the Covadonga lakes it was especially nice, as you can see in the photo below.
Howver, the place was as crowded as the main shopping street in Lleida on a Saturday afternoon! There were numerous coaches ferrying people up and down, all packed in like sardines! Then, of course, everyone went on the same walk around which took just over an hour to see two of the lakes.
We'd taken a packed lunch and were sitting there admiring the view, when suddenly a cow came running towards us so we had to bolt to one side to avoid being trampled on. Luckily the bell round its neck gave it away. In fact, the background music for Asturias would be just that - the sound of cowbells; quite eerie but very useful as a warning.

The picture was taken last week in the valley of Ardèche in France. What you see is the replica of the Chauvet cave (Chauvet 2). The replica is located just a few miles from the original cave and it is an incredible technological, artistic and scientific project. Inside the replica you can feel as if you were in the original cave watching the paintings made by these anatomically modern humans 36.000 years ago. The thing is that we went there without booking but we were able to get in at the last moment…we were very lucky!

Had it not been for two or three short outings, I spent the whole summer in confinement, whether compulsory or self-imposed. We faced the paradox of longing for a bit of freedom and fearing the consequences of it. So it had been a sedentary, hooked on home summer for me. In one of these outings, just in between the two confinements, at the end of June we visited some isolated small towns in the Pyrenees, such as Josa del Cadí, Gòsol and Saldes. It was from the hotel in Saldes, a peaceful place to unwind, where the photo was taken. From our bedroom we enjoyed this splendid view over the Pedraforca.

I did a Campervan trip with a friend around the central Pyrenees, mostly in the French part. We wanted to respect the recommendations of social distance in order to help prevent the spread of covid-19. And travelling by van is a good way to do that because you don’t share common places, only the ones where you can be very careful (It seems that everybody thought the same). We also decided to camp. I really enjoy having few comforts in my trips. Everything becomes simple and funny.

We went hiking, and some of the trails were overcrowded. Despite being in small towns, clearly frequented by tourists, we had the feeling that people were in desperate need of nature, movement and being outdoors.

What struck me most being in France was that people did not wear a mask. Well, they used indoors, in supermarkets and shops, but not in other situations as for example in some busy points on the path. My friend and I decided to use it when we were crossing those points, and everybody looked at us with an expression on their faces that I cannot describe.

As this was not the best summer to spend a long time abroad, we decided to travel along the Basque Country for a week. Mainly, it was a gastronomic trip due to that most of us have been there before. However, San Juan de Gaztelugatxe was a place everyone was passionate visiting. Bad news came when we saw that the tickets were sold out. I am stubborn as a mule, so I convinced the group to go there and get the chance to get them at the ticket office. It was not possible, nevertheless we could go there and appreciate its beauty from a viewpoint.
Next time we go there, visiting the castle is going to be a must.

Summer 2020 will not stand out for its parties, trips or festivals but it will be for its improvised plans.
Lleida’s confinement caught me outside Lleida with a friend; due to the uncertainty, without reflecting too much, we decided not to return.
My friend had just bought a second-hand car, literally two days before we left, so she did not control at all the car nor its gauges. We spent the entire month of July in Sabadell in her student flat going to Barcelona, and the nearby beaches; Castelldefels, Gavà and Sitges. One day we decided to visit a friend from Mataró. At first, the plan was to spend the day at the beach and to go home but the plan stretched on until the following day. We went to the shore and waited for the sunrise, the water at first light was warm but outside it was extremely cold. I took some breathtaking pictures of that shy golden sun. After the quick dip, we decided to return to Sabadell. Once we got in the car, we saw that one of the gauges became red, it was related to gases, we ignored it and left. After a few minutes we saw a column of smoke coming out of the bonnet so, we had to stop the car. We did not know anything about car engines. Our solution was to open a YouTube video at 7 a.m. which explained the parts of a car and the possible problems that can arise. It was not as serious as it seemed, and we finally reached Sabadell. Having slept we took the car to a garage.

I've never been a beach lover. My mom is always explaining to my new friends that, when I was a child, I didn't want to get out of the beach towel, cause I hated the sand being stuck on my feet.
That's probably why I've been travelling around the world and never been to Brazil, Dominican Republic or Mexico.
But the lockdown forced me to change my mind and I decided to discover with two friends our area.
As we had different concerns, we decided to visit the Ebro River Delta. I was shocked by the landscape, all the green fields planted to rice and little white houses embedded in. But the place which I fell in love with was Trabucador beach.
I won't write a lot about it (I want you to discover it) but it's not a common beach. There I found an unexplainably calm. Everything was totally different from beaches of my childhood. Now I've got fondly memories of this summer, with that beach in them.
