I think this is a great tool! I have never used this, but I can see where it could be useful in my course. I could have a certain Padlet for units, subjects, or modules and ask students to share their thoughts and ideas about that subject. I feel that it would be a great study method to have everything on a specific subject in one area for students. I teach Clinical Pathology so also adding pictures and asking students to identify those pictures and elaborate on what certain things indicate would be a great way for students to see how others think. As I am typing this I keep thinking of other great things Padlet would be good for in my course (case studies, clarification on subjects, etc.). The only challenge I can think of is getting students to interact and use this tool.

I would probably use it to generate more conversation, to help people contribute to a group project, or to simply have fun. With learning often being so brain intense, I can imagine having people post favorite landscape pictures, or fun videos, or animal pictures. AND I would still need to pay attention to make sure that it fit the covenant/decency standards that we're looking for from/with our learners.
Our team loves that otters will hold hands while sleeping so they don't float away from each other!

WOW! Impressive tool for students to work on a group project together. Easy to upload videos, comments, links etc. I would probably use this tool to add content videos that I use as audio and visual tools. Also, a great way to teach students on how to complete care maps. I worry that this may be too much technology for some individuals, but I feel if I offer a tutorial it could be done.

This is the first I've learned of Padlet, and I'm extremely impressed! It seems like a wonderful, fun way to share information and have discussions in one place! I would envision using it in my course, maybe one Padlet page for each module. Learners can personalize their responses to be fun and interactive. Since this would be my first time using it, I would imagine it might take a little time to perfect my Padlet, but it seems like it would be well worth the time and effort!

I have never heard of Padlet but I love learning about new online tools to use to keep my students engaged. I will use this as discussion for a case study or a debrief of simulated activity! I'm very excited about this as a visual that is interesting. It may get those students to interact that usually don't interact with the instructor. Also, using this as a Q&A session would be a great way to communicate with students. I feel that there may be some drawback with use due to accessibility for some students, because you can only use certain colors, font, etc

Where was this tool last year when students were asking for a format for their medication presentations? Most ended up with a shared google doc. This is way better. I like it. Some benefits of using it in NUR 162 is the flexibility, creativity, and ease of use for presentations (the students and mine). Potential challenges include students disagreeing with the theme or format, and some classmates are not tech-savvy.

This looks to me like a great alternative to the threaded discussion board. It's less linear, and also allows participants to post links, images, videos, etc. I've used padlet in the past for faculty brainstorms; and found it to be a great way to warm up a room BEFORE the discussion so that the meeting time itself is more efficient. I would think one could do a similar thing in a classroom setting. In my context (administering a program), I'm imagining teaching our deans to use it in a meeting; then asking them to use it to generate discussion before the next meeting. I'm curious about how I might also use this tool with my own congregation (I'm a priest who trains other priests, so my church is like my "lab"). Padlet is basically a community bulletin board. There's the learning curve, but once people are over THAT, this could be a fun way for some of our more isolated folks to interact.

We used a googledoc earlier this semester but I think the students would have loved the creativity and flexibility this offers. The biggest challenge I could see would be the learning curve for this tool. I'm excited to use this in the future!

I've used Padlet for a couple courses that I was a student in. What I like about it is the visually appealing nature of it. For example, I took a class on being a better ally, and rather than a boring list of resources that they provided us, they used a Padlet, and then we were all invited to add to it. I recently started creating one of my own to share with co-workers. https://padlet.com/fechnermarti/WFAA_DEI_2021

I am new to Padlet! It appears to be a really cool tool and I'm thinking about all the ways I can use this in the course I'm building. Benefits are that it is a great collaboration tool, but I agree with colleagues that it may overwhelm some folks. I would ask the students to use it as a gathering place to begin outlining a project and jot down notes, thoughts and ideas for assignments. To encourage usage I would also pose reflection questions here as well. So excited by this!
