1. Our town was a story about a small town called Grover's Corner. The story took place in 1938 and takes place in three acts. The three acts are about life , marriage , and death. There are two main families the Gibbs and the Webbs . George Gibbs and Emily Webb are neighbors and end up marrying each other . They together work on a farm till Emily dies. In the third act they talk about how humans take life for granite and Emily realizes that she doesn't want to go back to life.
2.They use setting because they often change and talk about the setting. For instance usually in the beginning of every act. They also use flashbacks like the one where Emily looks back on her past life. Symbolism in the book are represented by the cars it means change.
3. What i got most from the book is mortality. Death will always come no matter what take advantage and enjoy the small things in life.

1. Our Town is a story, turned in to a play, about a small town in Grover's Corner, and the people who live there. The story begins with the narrator introducing the setting, and some main characters. As the book progresses, we get to follow along, throughout the lives of the characters. During the first act, we learn about the characters . They are Mr. and Mrs. Gibbs, their children who are George and Rebecca, and Mr. and Mrs. Webb and their children Emily and Wallace. By the second act, we learn that Emily Webb, and George Gibbs have fallen in love and are getting married. We read about their love story and how it started in school, and later come to learn that the Webb family is full of wedding day superstitions. Once we reach the third act, we see that Emily Gibbs has passed and is now lying in her grave. She yearns to go back and relive a day in the living world. After being warned by Mrs. Gibbs to not go back, Emily chooses to do just that. She then realizes why she was warned, Emily now feels even more sad than she previously did because she wishes to be part of that world once more.
2. Mood- In the 2nd Act, you feel happy and joyful for the couple about to get married and their cute love story of two children in middle school
Diction- In the 3rd Act, the writer chose words that make you feel upset and sad for Emily and her wishing to return to the living world
Symbolism- the piece of furniture Mrs. Gibbs left represents her wanting to visit France
Characterization- the author takes the entire first act to characterize the characters and develop their personalities.
3. The lesson/theme I took away from Our Town is life, more than that, the simplicity of it. Its is so simple that it can be reduced to 112 pages, 3 acts and one story.

1. Our town is a play of the people who live in a small town called Grover's Corners. The setting takes place in New Hampshire in the year of 1901-1913. This play shows the everyday lives of their citizens and begins introducing us to the setting and personality of each character. Throughout the play, we learn about the characters, Mr. and Mrs. Gibbs and their children George and Rebecca. We also learn of the other Webb family and their children, Wally and Emily.
2. The tone of this book starts out Morbid but hopeful as we all know that everyone will die. The setting takes place in New Hampshire in a small town with a population of 2,642. it also takes place in the years 1901-1913. The last one is tone, the play shows you a happy wedding with everyone joyed and then immediately changes to act three where people are dying and it turns into a morbid feeling.
3. This story has taught me to never take moments for granted, and how we must always live our lives to the best of our ability, so that when we are old, we never have to regret the things we didn't do.

Our Town was a story focused on two families who live in the small town of Grover's Corners, New Hampshire. The story took place in the year of 1938, it contains three acts: "Daily Life", "Love & Marriage" and "Death". Each act is remarkably different from the others, all teaching you important things you should learn in life. The names of the two families this play centers around are the Gibbs and the Webbs. Dr. Gibbs is the head of the household, he's a doctor at a local hospital and is in charge of bringing in all the income for their family. Mrs. Gibbs, a stay-at-home mom who loves to garden and make her family breakfast every morning. Their two kids' names are George and Rebecca, George the oldest and Rebecca the youngest. As for the other family, Mr. Webb works for the Grover's Corners Sentinel, his wife also being a stay-at-home mom to assist their two kids. Their names are Emily and Wally, Emily the eldest and Wally the youngest.

3 literary terms the author used:
1.) Flashback - when Emily chose to revisit her 12th birthday.
2.) Point of View - 3rd person omniscient
3.) Setting - Grover's Corners, New Hampshire 1938

Some lessons I got from this novel are you never know what life has planned for you, so live your life to the fullest potential. Sometimes it's not always the best thing to expect the most positive outcome you can think of, because you really don't know what is going to happen one day.

[1.] Our Town is a story that takes place in the small fictional town called Grover's Corner, New Hampshire, in the spring of 1901. It is about two families, the Webbs and the Gibbs, who are neighbors. The Webbs family oldest daughter, Emily, who is very smart, and the Gibbs family's only son George, who plays baseball, fall in love one afternoon while walking to their homes. After a while of falling in love and having a wonderful relationship, they end up getting married. When the marriage started, they ended up moving to a farm which was owned by George's uncle. One night, Emily suddenly died. Emily watched George cry in grief of her from her grave, laying their sobbing. She realizes how fast life can go, and how you should enjoy every second of it.
[2.] Three Literary Elements that they used in Our Town were:
- Direct Characterization - at the beginning of the play, they explain about many of the characters you hear throughout the story.
- Flashback: there are many times in the story, where they will mention or take you back to an earlier time and setting in the town.
- Static character: Emily for example, is a static character. She does not change much i
[3.] The theme of Our Town is that time flies quickly and that you really need to enjoy it while you can because, you never know when it could end. Always appreciate everything in lie

These three acts are named Daily Life, Love and Marriage, Death and Dying. The story follows Emily Webb and George Gibbs. They fall in love and get married. Time is moving by and something happens to Emily Webb. As she is giving birth to her second child, she passed away. She turned into a spirit and realized how precious life is but it was too late.

2. The author used many flashbacks throughout the story to go back to earlier times in the town.
3. The lesson I learned from the story is don't try to rush life and appreciate the small things. Just before you know it, you're gone off this earth.

This play pushed the boundaries of acceptable plays through a theme of life.

2. FLASHBACKS(fourteenth birthday party), dynamic characterization(changes in Emily) , static characterization(Mr.Web) , and breaking the fourth wall (Stage manager).

3. A main recurring theme of the novel is the circle of life showing families and people being born to reflecting on their life in a graveyard.

1. Our Town", by Thornton Wilder is about two families that live in Grover's Corner, New Hampshire in 1901. Emily Webbs and George Gibbs both grew up together as neighbors and were very close. As Emily grew up she started to fall in love with George. George had also fallen in love with Emily. Later on in the play they get married and are living on a farm together. As they grow older and have a child together Emily dies during childbirth. The stage manager then narrates the story and talks to Emily while at her grave. Emily asks the others who are also in their graves who have died, about the life they are living. They tell her that she is able to relive moments from her past life. One of the moments that she relived was her 14th birthday. There were many different moods and tones during this play one happy moment was when Emily and George had gotten married and it quickly changed to sad when Emily had died.

2. One of the literary terms that the author used was flashbacks when she had relived the moment of her 14th birthday. Another literary term used was tone because the tone started off as happy as they fell in love and quickly changed to sad when Emily had died. Lastly the author used settings such as Grover's Corner, New Hampshire.

3. Basically the theme of the play was to show that you shouldn't all take life for granted. You should think about the future because you never know what could happen. A lesson that I learned from the book was to live in the moment and not underestimate yourself.
