The Gardener by Sarah Stewart

I really liked this book. I thought it was eye opening for me. When I look at the life I have, I see how blessed I am and it is hard to remember all of the things people had to go through to get to where I am now. I think this story shows that through very hard times, children can find the light. Throughout the story Lydia Grace remained positive and that is a good outlook to have when you are going through such difficult times.

I think drawing a storyline is a very beneficial thing to do in the classroom. Sometimes it is difficult for students to comprehend a story, so drawing a storyline will help students visualize what is happening in the story. This was a great read!
