Hello everyone! I have a company based in the UK called Nature and Causes. I also had a California startup a decade ago developing ecosystem C restoration projects monetised through climate change mechanisms. I have been involved in biochar off and on since 2009, and in soil carbon sequestration and sustainable capacity development for the ag sector consistently (join my LinkedIn group 'Soil Carbon'!). I am interested in developing biochar projects that bring real economic and climate benefit. I would love to see us all develop multiple ways, private sector and otherwise (whatever is the best fit), to really help scale biochar and all its benefits in the regions we live in and where appliable beyond. Solution from problem. I have that written on my soul.

Interesting to this topic is one of my projects around sustainable hedgerows maintanance where we reuse the cutted material in a circular way: woodchips for heating schools, playgroundtools, but more interesting is the evolution to a reuse in the nearby agricultural area to become carboncaptation and a higher watercaptation in the soil (win-win for nature and agriculture). Biochar, possibly made by our cutted woodmaterial will be an interesting product to become a long term carbon captation in the agricultural soil and in the same time increasing the watercaptation in this soil. Keep in touch !</var>

Huw Jones - Cwm Arian Renewable Energy (Volunteer & Training Officer). I have recently started in post for CARE a Community Benefit Society based in rural West Wales. One of the project we are currently preparing for involves the use of what would normally be waste products from hedge and land management as useable resource, Biochar being one of these resources. The use of Biochar as a method of improving soil and locking in carbon are of specific interest as well as it's use as a feed supplement for livestock. Any information gleaned here will be amazing, and possibly contacts made (I see there one or two from Cymru here)
