    A good example of a Non government organisation that influenced government decisions is the Migrant Workers’ Centre(MWC).MWC,set up in 2009, is a bipartite initiative of the National Trades Union Congress(NTUC) and the Singapore National Employers’ federation.The MWC is a non-government organisation whose mission is to fight for the fair employment practices  and the well-being of the migrant workers in siangpore. The MWC does this by pursing 4 main thrusts,namely:Promoting equitable employment practices as well as awareness of migrant workers’ employment related rights, Providing interim humanitarian assistance and aid for distressed migrant workers, Promoting social integration through the provision of social support networks and structures, Advocating for fair resolution and assertion of migrant workers’ rights.They have over 4000 migrant worker ambassadors that help them to gain the trust of the workers. They also organise events where students are able to interact with migrant workers that help to dispel the myth that all the workers are monolithic.

The organisation collects food that is no longer sellable or expired but still can be consumed through these programs and donates it to people who need it. For example, soup kitchens and charity organisations. This ensures that consumable food would not be wasted but consumed instead.The organisation also gives talks to teach people about food wastage and how it can be prevented. This can help reduce food wastage as more people would be aware on how to tell which food can still be consumed safely and avoid throwing away consumable food. What the organisation is doing not only helps society to reduce the food wastage.
