In phase 2 we made and presented a 20 minute presentation on our chosen transport, for us it was space. Also we learned more about the daily lives of people with disabilites.

We made a timeline to show how our form of transport evolved over time. We added many different events that where important things humanity achieved for example the people who went on the moon with Neil Armstrong.

Presentation 2.1 - 2.6

In phase 2 we had to create a 20 minute presentation on our previously researched topic, for us it was space. We included many facts and important moments in history in our presentation. In the end it was too short, coming in at only 15 minutes but it was still good and we took the feedback we received in the end to edit and revise our presentation for a final grade.

En la fase 2 tuvimos que crear una presentación de 20 minutos sobre nuestro tema previamente investigado, para nosotros era el espacio. Incluimos muchos hechos y momentos importantes de la historia en nuestra presentación. Al final, fue demasiado corto, solo duró 15 minutos, pero aún así fue bueno y tomamos los comentarios que recibimos al final para editar y revisar nuestra presentación para obtener una calificación final.

we thought of many ways that we could end the UoE, to see if the people who watched our presentation have changed their mind about disabled people.
And we will make some people blindfolded so they can be in the shoes of the people who do have those disabilities.

During these sessions we paired with new people to research and create a presentation or talk for the disability you chose. Some people chose mental disabilities or physical disabilities or others learned about people who are deaf or blind.

As a team we divided up questions that were in our guidebook. We all took different events and answered the questions to the best of our abilities based on our separate events. We then compiled our knowledge into one document.

For the last assignment of Phase 2 we met with a representative from Fundación ONCE who taught us about what challenges blind people face every day. Things that those with good sight take for granted every day, like being able to see what is on the packaging for food they buy at the grocery store.

Para el último encargo de la Fase 2 nos reunimos con un representante de la Fundación ONCE que nos enseñó los retos a los que se enfrentan las personas ciegas cada día. Cosas que las personas con buena vista dan por sentado todos los días, como poder ver lo que hay en el empaque de los alimentos que compran en la tienda de comestibles.

For this session we got to know those in our group better and assessed each others strengths, weaknesses, and how each person would help the team. We also planned what we would do if something went wrong and who would be responsible for helping if something went wrong.

Though we didn't actually use micro processors and senors until later in the unit, we used these sessions to follow along with the teacher and get acquainted with what a micro processors and sensors actually are.

After team work and introductions to different materials, we started on what the first phases of the project are all about, our form of transportation. For our group that was Space. In sessions 1.5 and 1.6 we started to research what are transportation is and what society was like at the time of its debut.

Después del trabajo en equipo y las introducciones a diferentes materiales, comenzamos con lo que son las primeras fases del proyecto, nuestra forma de transporte. Para nuestro grupo eso fue Space. In these last few sessions we worked as a class to brainstorm and bring to life our idea for the final event. In the end we decided on a fundraiser for Fundacion ONCE with 50 cent tickets and 1 or 2 euro concessions that we, the students and teachers, would bake. At a few points in the event we would choose a person to randomly blind (put a blindfold on their eyes), deafen (put noise canceling headphones on them) or confine to a wheel chair. after 10 or so minutes they would be allowed to return to normal but we would ask them what was like to experience being disabled.

Phase 5 was all about finishing our work, we finished up our prototype design and designed our final event to raise awareness for disabilities as well as making promotion videos and websites for our prototype.
