As well as reducing their cognitive load and allowing them to retrieve information form their long-term memory. It's beneficial because of they can remember part of the answer but not all of it they can go to the word bank to find the part they are missing.

Providing word banks can be beneficial for all students taking a test whether they have a learning disability or not. Word banks allow students to know what choices they are able to pick from and enables them to break down options. For example, if a student is unsure between two answers and sees in the word bank one of the answers has already been used, they can assume the answer is the other one.

Providing a word bank would be beneficial because it provides students with choices. If students did not have this option, there could be multiple different answers that could potentially be correct making the question more overwhelming or confusing than it was intended. Students could also potential forget the term making a simple question a stressful situation.

With a word bank, students will still have to be cognitively active in choosing the correct choice, but they have guidance. This accommodation is beneficial for students with disabilities or not, because it reduces any sort of confusion.

Providing word banks alongside test items can be beneficial for students with disabilities, particularly those who struggle with language processing or recall difficulties. One example of how this accommodation can help is by reducing cognitive load. Imagine a student with dyslexia taking a reading comprehension test. Without a word bank, they may spend a significant amount of mental energy trying to remember specific vocabulary or spelling, which can detract from their ability to focus on understanding the content and demonstrating their comprehension skills.
