         <title>Charles Tyson Yerkes</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>At one point in time Yerkes owned more than half of the private "L" companies as well as 2/3 of the railway industry. Yerkes was born on June 25, 1837 in Pennsylvania. Yerkes first job was a full time job as a clerk in a grain commission brokers office.&nbsp; Towards the end of Yerkes life he was sent to jail for embezzlement.          <description><![CDATA[<div>James Fisk was born on April 1, 1835 in Vermont. He made most of hid money by smuggling southern cotton through the union blockade.&nbsp; Fisk tried to corner the market on gold later on his life but fail when President U.S. Grant halted the black Friday scandal.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Jay Cooke was born on August 10, 1821 in Ohio. Cooke was a financier who helped finance the union war effort. Cooke also helped finance the postwar railway effort. Cooke was practically the accountant for the government during the war providing them with money.
