I was put in piano lessons from a young age, and it pushed me to participate in things I would not have naturally gravitated towards. After taking piano for five years I now am able to play the piano, guitar, and a bit of the flute. I grew up in many sports as in, soccer, gymnastics, track, and really anything my parents would allow me to do. It shaped me into a competitive person who has a willingness to succeed in any aspect of my life. I went on to nationals for gymnastics and ended up tearing my PCL which in itself was another trial in itself. It is a culture in my life that I take a lot of pride in. I don't feel ethnocentrism from being Dutch like I do being American, but Dutch culture has played a bigger part in shaping me into who I am. My grandfather instilled the values he learned within the culture in my siblings and I growing up.
