Test 1 for me went pretty well. I didn't have too much that needed to be fixed so that was good. I was not expecting some of the grammar sections and I could study for those better in the future. I have been pretty good with studying for the tests but I am also looking to use new resources such as the Quizlet site and continue utilizing Chinese Corner

Personally the test went better than I had expected. Of course I have aspirations to do better than I have done. A lot of went wrong for me in the test was the fact that I struggle to recall characters especially from the older chapters. Chinese corner has been a decent resource for me, especially in helping with speaking. Before next test I would definitely try to write and repeat out loud characters because that works multiple parts of the brain. Another part that helped was speaking up in class, it helps to be corrected and then ensured of what the correct answer/word order is.

I thought the first test went well. I found that I remembered the most recent vocabulary and struggled with writing some of characters we learned earlier in the semester. For the next test, I could use more practice in writing out characters, especially the more complex characters. Quizlet has definitely helped me with recognizing vocabulary, and I think repetition -- in writing and speaking-- is a great way to learn.

The first test was not too bad in terms of difficulty. The things that I would do different in between the next test and now would be to review previous vocabulary more often and work with the grammar. The section where you had to fill in the blanks with conjunctions was the hardest part for me so I will work on improving that. Some of the things that I have been doing and I definitely want to continue to do is listening to the audio files of the dialogue and the vocabulary because I feel like it has helped me better recognize the words when spoken and have even improved my ability to quickly write the characters down.

The first test was not horribly difficult, especially since I had struggled so much the first weeks of class. For the next test, I definitely need to focus more on question particles, and just overall learning the characters better. I also need to work a lot more on grammatical structure, because I unnecessarily lost points simply because I had the wrong word order, or forgot to place a verb. The fill in the blank part was the most difficult for me, so I need to do a better job at learning conjunctions and grammatical particles, as well as improving my knowledge when I read. Some sections I read I did not fully understand, so I feel that I need to work on my Reading Comprehension, which will help with other sections as well. I definitely will continue making flashcards, as they have helped a lot with my character recognition. I will also keep using repetition with writing characters, and slowly expanding my sentences, as they helped me form strong paragraphs for the last section of the test. The test was a good understanding of where I am now, and I definitely feel that I will improve quickly.

For the next test, I would definitely like to spend more time preparing for speaking. I think it would help to read sentences aloud and focus on pronunciation, while still using the textbook to help with the preparation of characters and sentence structures. I think also making an ongoing list of key words that I know I am likely to forget for the upcoming test would be helpful because then I know where to focus my time studying for the written sections. In terms of what I would like to keep doing, I think what helps me the most is just reading the textbook sections repeatedly and studying the dialogue sentences until they stick in my mind. Studying hard for the dictations is something I think is important because it really helps to learn the material very well, and I think if we didn't have them, I would be cramming for each big test the week of, instead of learning the chapters in advance.

For the next test, I will definitely try working on my speaking and fluency. I didn't have too much trouble on the written test, but during the oral exam I had tone issues and could not make coherent sentences quickly enough. Hopefully writing sentences in quizlet will improve my fluency. As for the things I want to keep doing, I want to keep with my study routine for learning new vocab. Repeating characters and copying down the textbook dialogues have helped me a lot, especially in thinking of sentences not as arrangements of words, but as fluid coherent thoughts.

This test was a great first test. I think that I was fairly challenged and was able to show all of the new words and grammar I have learned this first month. I studied very hard the vocabulary and the grammar. Flash cards have helped me learn the vocab and practice tones. I think for the next test I am going to practice more on speaking. I will definitely try to go over role-play dialogues with my chinese friend in order to prepare better for the Oral part of the exam. Overall, good first test!

The test showed me I learned a lot these last few weeks. It's amazing how easy it is to let minor details to slip by and they all matter. It's hard but I am still relatively content with my first grade. Knowing that I have to continue studying just as hard to continue improvement is a little intimidating, but the results of my first test are encouraging and can help me strive for this continued growth.

Overall I am happy with my first test. The piece I was most worried about and expectedly did the worst on was the interview-style speaking portion. I will continue to practice varying my grammar and vocabulary usage to construct more complex sentences. I need to focus more on the test to avoid making careless errors.

Xiaoqi的秋假。

For this review test, I will make sure to pay special attention to the vocab. I feel as though my 生词 on the last test was lacking because I was relying on very basic words instead of higher level ones. My 语法 was not too good on the last test either so that's something else I need to pay a lot of attention to in the review. I am very excited for the Final Video project so I will definitely budget plenty of time to get that done. It should be a lot of fun. I will strictly follow the timeline Chulaoshi gave so that I do not fall behind. The hardest part will probably be making the actual movie because that always takes a lot of time. I think one thing I improved on was taking the Tingxies in general. I learned effective ways to study and that helped me score better than previous weeks. I have learned more effective ways to memorize characters as well

No one has posted, but I'm sure everyone will have a great movie plan and I look forward to watching them

For this final review test I plan to review the grammar of the chapters especially. I think that reviewing the vocabulary will be beneficial for my review for the test. I want to use the flashcards again so that I can be tested on my own about the words and the characters. I will most likely use the character practice textbook to solidify the stroke order and characters in my mind. For the final movie project I hope to make the video about my Chinese friend and myself. She has helped me in my journey through this class and I have been able to help her in her grasp of English grammar. I am also looking to follow chu laoshi's plan so that I can stay on track with this and my other studies. I have very little experience with movie maker so I'm sure that will be a challenge. Because of that I am hoping to some of the other work done early so I can take the time and effort necessary to get the movie to the quality I want it to be.

I agree with 司克杰 about reviewing the grammar for the upcoming test. I think that is probably the thing that I struggle the most with. I plan on re-watching the grammar videos for chapters 6-9, and also reading over the grammar sections of the textbook. As for the video, I am planning on doing mine on a fictional character. Well, a cast of fictional characters (if that is alright with chulaoshi), the cartoon, Bob's Burgers (haha). I think that the movie will be a fun project to put together, but also I think that it will take a fair amount of time. I'm also really excited to see what everyone comes up with for theirs.

For the upcoming test I will focus a lot on grammar and character recognition. Usually I struggle with remembering characters, and because of that I will be reviewing them a lot this upcoming week. I will also study grammar because it will help me expand the content in my test. As for my movie, I currently think I will do something with a fictional character. I am still narrowing down exactly what I want. I know the movie will take a lot of time, especially since I am unfamiliar with doing such a project, so I will make sure to stick with the timeline so that I don't fall behind. I am excited to see what everybody ends up doing.

I definitely did better on the last test than I did on the first test. As a result, I will be using the same strategies I used then. For instance, I made a Quizlet for all of the vocabulary for the last three units (if anyone wants them, here is the link! :(http://quizlet.com/dlai95). I felt like this was beneficial because it helped me to review the way words are spoken and the tones (which will be helpful for the spoken section of the test) and it also helped me with just recognizing the characters (which is useful for the reading comprehension section of the test). I also prepared the written questions ahead of time so I could really focus on ensuring that I had most of the grammar correct, especially when trying to use the advanced language structures. To manage my time and effort for the final video project, I will set aside a portion of time each day to work on the project. Additionally, I will make a schedule for myself so I know what I need to get done and when so I do not get overwhelmed by the assignment. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, I plan on having a 1/3 of the assignment done on each day. The only difficulties I see on completing this assignment is possible technology problems, but I plan on solving these problems by starting the technical aspects early so if i do encounter problems, I can seek help. One thing that I have seen that I have improved over the weeks is memorizing characters and I think this is due to the fact that I learned the new vocabulary lists in small chunks so I did not get overwhelmed. Additionally, this gave me a chance to process the characters.

I was very pleased with my score on the last test, so I will use the same strategies to study for this test, as I used for the last test. I will mainly be using flashcards to study the necessary vocabulary. I will also re-watch all of the grammar videos and read about the grammar structures in the text book, as grammar was one of my weaknesses on my last exam. I will also re-read all of the texts in the book, to improve my character recognition and reading skills. As for the movie, I'm not very experienced at making movies, as I have never done it before. I'm excited to try something new and will work on it every day, to spread out the work load. At the moment, I'm still not sure what my movie will be about.

This semester in Chinese has been amazing. I have noticed that I have learned so much about Chinese and have really gained a lot of respect for my classmates that have been struggling with me to learn this hard language. I was very happy with how my tests have turned out. I think a successful method for studying is writing out all of the characters from the lessons and the challenging grammar. I then proceed to rewrite characters that i struggle with and speak with tones I struggle with. The repetition really helps me remember every aspect of a character. For this upcoming week, I will begin to review all of the lessons for the upcoming test as well as work on my video project. For the project, I will sit down and write a script and then wait until the next day to revise. I think by giving my self a full day, I will be able to read the script with a new mindset and this usually helps me when writing essays in other classes. I look forward to putting all of the pieces together and hopefully making a really fun and cool video project!
