THE DISEASE THAT STILL HAS NO CURE

By Elizabeth Arapa Castañeda

The first case of cancer was discovered by Michaela Binder, he was a young man, living in Egypt 3,200 years ago, and he had cancer. His case is the oldest recorded so far of this disease. The origin of the term cancer was first coined by Hippocrates (460–379 BC) considered the father of medicine.

There are several explanations for why the Greeks named the tumors that way: some are as hard as the shell of a crab and others are reminiscent of the animal's multiple claws. Furthermore, Hippocrates believed that it was better not to treat cancer lesions because patients survived longer without treatment than with him.

The first cancer descriptions in history are discussed according to recent findings and their interpretation, which show it as a group of unknown diseases until the 18th century, when it started to increase to actual levels. Medical literature shows a variety of what were considered cancer lesions, which are actually different lesions. This is partly due to an etymological misunderstanding of the Greek term karkinos that, in its modern sense, meant cancer, but also ulcerative lesion. This confusion is widely reviewed in the ancient medical literature and the main landmarks of modern cancer conception up to the 18th century are outlined.

The first case of metastissis was discovered by scientists Johannes Müller (1801-1858) y Robert Remak (1815-1865). Many cases of cancer are treated by different methods, one of them is chemotherapy and radiotherapy. But currently there are alternative methods for this disease. For example, cancer of the prostate, breast, pancreas is treated with alternative medicine, or with extract therapies from the mistletoe plant. Cancer cases are discovered day by day and are increasing around the world. Chemotherapy treatment was invented by the German Jewish doctor Paul Ehrlich. Medications against this disease are sold at very high prices, but cervical, breast, prostate, stomach, colon, and leukemia cancers are assumed by the SIS.

Colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and high-sensitivity tests are tests done to detect the disease. Cancer is fueled by red meat and glucose according to research by Carl and Gerty Cori in the US.

Cancer is being studied by different institutions such as the Cancer Institute of the United States. The disease is being continuously investigated by the American cancer society until a definitive cure is found.

Should cellphones be used in classrooms? BY SARA PEÑA MOLINA

By Sara Peña Molina

There is a debate about this topic, should cellphones be used in classrooms or not? These days, more and more students are bringing cell phones to class. Even elementary school students have cell phones in their pockets and backpacks.

Teachers give their opinions about this situation that in some cases it is causing some problems in learning. It causes distraction in students.
There are some teachers who say that students should not have cellphones in the school. But there are other teachers that say that it ispossible for technology to exist in the classroom as a learning tool rather than simply a distraction.
According to an article that was published in September 2019, in Oxford learning website, news line ,cell phones were banned in Ontario classrooms during instructional time. That rule was given for the education Ministry of Canada. The new ban meaned that elementary and secondary school students could not be able to use their cellphones in the classroom unless it is for educational purposes, medical reasons, or as a support for students with special needs.
In our country Peru, every school stablishes the rules about the use of the cell phones and every teacher must pay attention because sometimes students are allowed to use their cell phones for educational purposes but they are not attending all the lesson purposes.

In conclusion, there’s no easy answer: there are both pros and cons to students having cell phones in school. Although they can be used as a learning tool in the classroom, this only works as long as students use them effectively.

The venezuelan immigration

The deep crisis existing in Venezuela has generated the largest migratory flow in Latin America, estimating that, by the end of 2023, Peru -the second host country after Colombia- will have a population of Venezuelan migrants and refugees close to 1.45 million. In this regard, it is clear that no population is prepared either to forcefully leave their country of origin -due to the critical existing crisis- or to welcome a large number of foreigners in such a short time, generating a context of extreme vulnerability. for the migrant population, as well as discomfort and even rejection in the host or receiving population. Achieving the full integration of the Venezuelan population in society and in the Peruvian economy requires the decisive involvement of the State and civil society with a view to promoting an arduous and progressive change of mentality in Peruvians (from rejection to empathy ) through education and culture. Otherwise, situations could be generated that seriously affect not only security, but also the stability that is required for the integral development of the country.
