C.S. Lewis: Faith is trusting beyond what we see. It’s the light that guides us when everything feels dark.

Interviewer: Max Lucado, and what about hope?

Max Lucado: Hope is God’s whisper saying: you are not alone. It gives us courage to move forward.

Entrevistador: Welcome to our podcast, Machado de Assis! Your works have been a cornerstone of Brazilian literature. What inspired you to write about the human condition in such a unique way?

Machado de Assis: Ah, thank you for having me. I believe that the human condition is a vast and complex subject, full of contradictions. I sought to explore these contradictions through my characters, revealing the intricacies of the human heart.

Entrevistador: Your characters are indeed complex and multifaceted. How do you think your experiences growing up in Rio de Janeiro influenced your writing?

Machado de Assis: Rio de Janeiro was my universe, and its people, my inspiration. The city's rhythms, its people, and its contradictions all found their way into my work. I drew from life, but also from my own imagination and observations.

Entrevistador: Your writing often touches on themes of love, morality, and social class. What do you hope readers take away from your works?

Machado de Assis: I hope readers see the world through my characters' eyes, with all its flaws and beauties. I wanted to question the certainties of my time, to provoke reflection, and to invite readers to see the world from different perspectives.

Entrevistador: Your legacy is undeniable. How do you feel about your work being studied and admired around the world?

Machado de Assis: It's a great honor, of course. But I believe that true literature transcends borders and time. If my work can resonate with readers today, just as it did in my own time, then I am content.
