I think that it means that Luke is not the type of person that wants to be competitive with people and friends. Mr. Terupt is important to the story. As soon as Jessica found out that Lexie's mom is going through cancer, the group forgave Lexie a little bit for her actions, understanding that she was going through a lot too. But bad things end with good things, and Lexie gets a puppy that she names Margo. Margo then has her own little cause-and-effect relationship. That is when she pees on Peter in the car, which causes the entire gang to laugh which brings them a little bit closer. Now, over the course of the everything fair, the gang has come together on one last campaign-Saving Mr. Terupt. I think that the everything fair brought everyone closer. The pair that it brought closer the most is Jeffrey and Anna. The scene which they come together is when Jeffrey helps Anna "cut her beautiful name" out of the wood block. I am making an inference that I think the gang will do everything they can to save Mr. Terupt from "the chopping block". I think that "the chopping block" (text quote) symbolizes when   Jeffrey cuts Anna's name out of the wood block. Also peter is going through times with mr terupt is going through hard times and since he has passion for mr terupt he is trying his best to help mr terupt and he is doing that by also trying to keep the gang going after the closet game wich kind of disconbobulated the group and in the closet to danielle I think peter even though it was the wrong time he had the right intentions and that is kind of how peter works,he says things at the wrong time but he has good intentions so I wonder if peter will change at the end of the book because after all he is going through alot and that sometimes changes people like for example Lexie. Also when peter stands up for Luke at the everything fair it shows how his personality is changing definetly but slowly. An example of this is with her mother. Lexie's mom is going through a lot and Lexie is doing all that she can to help her get through it. She is staying to help even if she has other things to do. I think that another good example of this is with Jessica. Jessica's mom hides her invitation so Jessica and Alexia didn't know that she got one. But because the girls didn't know that Jessica got one Lexie gave hers to her. I think that this shows that Lexie cares. I also Think that it shows a theme in our book, Sving Mr. Terupt. The theme that I think it shows is, If you care about people in your life, do anything to help them. The last couple of parts about Lexie hve shown that she lives by this theme. Whether she was helping her mom or trying to get the group back together, she has lived by this theme. Also, I think that the rest of the group lives by this theme as well.
