These storms have violent winds that can cause the same and more extensive damage as a tornado. In the center of the storm, we see the 'eye' of the storm. The eye is a calm spot in the middle of the storm. Because of the strong winds and storms that happen in hurricanes, many times, they cause flooding in the areas were they occur.

*Fun Fact: In the northern hemisphere (where we live) we call these storms hurricanes and they rotate counterclockwise.
