         <description><![CDATA[<div>At the begginings of my interaction with ceramics, I found myself throwing and improve my technique. I have to recognize that mean while I was throwing, I was also imagine in my head how my pieces will look with different glazes. Then I realized I had no knowledge of this processes of glazes production and of that specific topic, so I decided to learn about this. This&nbsp; was almost three years ago, every step to learn was autonomous process, thanks YouTube and Jhon Britt (https://www.youtube.com/c/johnbrittpottery) for all the information, but I was missing someone that can solve some specific questions I had about the chemestry of the compunds. Finally this year I found my Neo, the chosen one hahaha. His name is Ovelio. He is from Venezuela and cames to Colombia to live in Medellin, as we all know, the economical situation of Venezuela is really hard, so he migrate to Medellin since his wife is from there. Ovelio, such a nice man, used to worked with "Materiales cerámicos Matcer CA and Colorificio Pordecar" in Venezuela, he have a lot of experience and knowledge, the best part is that he is open to share this knowledge and I´m like a little sponge full of curosity and willing to absorb all the possible information. At the moment I´m working with him and this has been the best month of my glaze ceramic life indeed. One thing for sure is that Ove has&nbsp; explained to me the interactions of chemical compounds, what gives them their shape and character. With this information, now, I´m able to understand the material in order to formulate my own glazes and also to get closer to the understanding of the matter. I want to share this with whoever wants to read me and know me as well. Here is the first steps of my investigative process in case there is someone looking for answers to those same doubts I used to had.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Silica, the short name for silicon dioxide (SiO2) is by far the most common glass former. Boron and phosphorus are also glass formers, but are usually mixed with silica. Silica molecules join together to form strong, giant networks. Each oxygen atom is shared by two silicon atoms and as the molecules combine, they chemically form covalent bonds in a tetrahedron with a silicon atom at the center and oxygen atoms at the corners. This structure requires extremely high temperatures to melt -3110 F/1710 C- and therefore a flux is required to drop the melting point to a reasonable measure.</div>]]></description>
