Andrew Carnegie was born in The United Kingdom on November 25, 1835. Carnegie was one of the first businessmen to gain fortune during the industrialization. Selling/making steel was how he made his money. In 1899 his company "the Carnegie Steel" made more steel then Britain. Carnegie's net-worth was 309 Billion US dollars, that amount just says how well Carnegie's company was doing. To conclude my summary, Andrew Carnegie attempted to control as much as the steel industry as he could thus leading to his success.

Born on July 8, 1839 growing up to build his own oil company, we are going to be discussing John D Rockefeller. Rockefeller basically dominated the oil industry because his company controlled 90 percent of it. He bought out competitors and was able to raise prices far above normal levels. Critics started to call businessmen like Rockefeller "Robber Barons" because they were taking advantage of their situations. Since this started to happen people wanted the Sherman Antitrust Act, but the government never enforced it.
