I think using readers theatre will be really helpful for my students at a 5th grade level. When students come into 5th grade they are usually stronger readers, but they don´t read with very much expression. I believe readers theatre will be a very good way to help kids see what needs to be done to read with expression and emotion.

A lot of strategies discussed today I already use in my classroom. The students like the variety and being able to read in different ways. I haven't used Readers Theater in my room yet based on the strength of the readers. I would like to dabble in it at the end of the year when the reading levels are higher.

One of the more useful strategies from today that I can integrate into my classroom is the repeated reading strategy. With terms that are lengthier, I could read the term out loud and then have students repeat the word out loud a few times so there is clarity. This is part of the DII method that we use. It also helps when all of the students in the room are doing it together so the few students who are struggling won't be put on the spot. I could also integrate more AB partner work with solving problems. I could have partner A explain how to solve the equation in words and writing and then have partner B explain how to solve another problem similar. I do this once and a while; it works
well.

I have not used Readers Theater, but I would like to use it more. I definitely see the value in it as far as expression, fluency and phrasing. Our Speech and Language Pathologist uses it in my classroom a lot, but I think I would like to add a little more time on my own.

I look forward to checking out all of the different ideas for scripts to see what might work for my grade level.

The strategy that will be most useful is readers theater. I have used it in the past but want to incorporate it more now that I am teaching second grade. Students are becoming more independent readers by this point and readers theater would be good to do more to work on their fluency and expression.

It gives an opportunity for students to do something different and fun while they practice expression. I am also going to try and incorporate TumbleBooks during my Daily 3 time.

The concept of role playing or the reading theater are the main strategies I could use in my classroom. I have had students role play different science people realted to a topoic and then share or present their info to the class as a presnetation to teach the class

The strategy I found most useful for today that I would use in my classroom would be the repeated reading process. In Math I can read a step to a problem and then have the kids repeat what I said. This helps with memorization of the problem solving process for that daily objective.

The idea I found most useful for my classroom was the idea of role playing. I often use this strategy when reading dramas, but I've never considered using this for other reading activities before. Actually participating in role playing today with the the readers' theater showed me how fun it can be and how much more the reading comes to life.

Something I already use in my class is a variation of the Reading Theater. As we review chapters in our sports science textbook, I'll often have each student read a paragraph or two aloud. To reinforce their learning of what we had just read, I will group students together to summarize an assigned section. After they gather main points, I have them write bulletpoints / pictures on the board to present to the class.
