Hello All! My name is Lorinda Davis, I am currently in the New Visions Charter Teacher Residency Program. This fall will be my first year Teaching EVER! I am ecstatic about this new career change! This past summer I have started my classes at Hunter in the Grad program to obtain my MS is Special education Generalist 7-12 ; I have learned so much about pedagogy and learning how to help students. I will be teaching a Wilson's intervention class at Samuel's Gompers High School in the Bronx. I currently do not have a favorite book but I am reading "Teach like a champion" which is giving me lots of insight on my practice. I am originally from the co-op city in the Bronx, NY. However, I lived in so many areas in NY and FLA. Although, I consider the Bronx MY HOME and HEART! My favorite foods are soul food.

Hello everyone! My name is Judy Chau. I'm currently enrolled into the certification program for Adolescent Special Ed. I'm already certified in Secondary Ed. ELA. I started teaching in 2006, but then stopped in 2010, and went into the private sector. I'm looking to go back into teaching as crazy as that might seem but I think I'm just born to be a teacher. I just got a gig teaching Middle School Special Ed. grades 6-8 to a 12:1:1 class. I've never taught a 12:1:1 class before and I'm a bit nervous, but I'm also excited for the opportunity. I've already started my SPED classes over the Summer with a few fellow classmates who are also taking SPED 771 with me (--->Lorinda!). I'm happy to be taking class with you all once again, and excited to meet a few new faces too. I'm currently trying to catch up on all my YA lit. I just finished Bud, Not Buddy and am now reading The Boy in The Striped Pajamas. I do love YA lit, but I must admit I need to do some catching up on my reading. Some of my favorite books are Pride and Prejudice, The Giver, Maus, The House on Mango Street, Native Son, and Hunger Games and other sorts of dystopian novels. Ok. Some of those aren't really YA. I was born and raised in NY, but in my last job I had the opportunity to travel a lot and I've been bitten by the travel bug a while back. I'm hoping to go somewhere exotic every year, but I'm expecting my first baby in late December, so I will probably have to rethink my travel options. Anyway, I always had a love for literature and I hope to make my students love it as much as I do.

Hi! My name is Evelyn Lagnado and I am enrolled in the Advanced Certification in Special Education at Hunter. I am currently going into my 5th year as a high school social studies teachers. For the last 4 years I was at a small high school in Crown Heights where I taught 9th-grade Global Studies and 12th-grade Participation in Government/Economics. This school year I am starting at a new school in Bay Ridge called the High School of Telecommunications Arts and Technology, which not only has a much longer name than my last high school, but is also 4 times the size. I will be teaching 3 9th-grade global classes and 2 health classes that focuses on the Hochman writing techniques. I will be co-teaching 3 ICT classes with one of them being a NEST class.
My favorite book is The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov because it was my first introduction to magical realism and really transported me to another place. Though I first read it while living in India whenever I opened the book it felt like I was in Russia. It made me really question a lot of my actions and how I perceive the world around me. I read it over and over whenever I need to escape reality.
My favorite food is grilled cheese
. I love bread, I love cheese and this is just the perfect combination.
I am from Queens, NY and went to public school there. I currently live in South Slope Brooklyn with my husband!

My name is Kelly Hasso. My content area was studio art, but now also is also earth science. I Am from Yonkers New York, and my family is from Jordan. My favorite book is bodega dreams by Ernesto Quinonez. I enjoyed his stories and how he spoke of the Latin American history in New York and relating it to the Hispanic community in New York together, or the black panther movement. I enjoyed how his story line followed the same story line as the Great Gastby and kept it so engaging. My favorite food is absolutely any Italian food, I absolutely love all the forms of bread, and ofcourse penne a la vodka. I look forward to working with all of you and learning as much diversity as possible this semester.

Hi everybody !! My name is Clément Salomon. I am French and I was born and raised in Paris. I moved to the US over a decade ago.
I am currently in the New Visions Charter Teacher Residency Program. I am a former NYC Teaching Fellow. I am enrolled in the MS in Special Education/ Generalist/ 7-12. This year I will be co-teaching two 10th grade Global Studies courses and one early intervention reading course (Reading 180) at a high school located in the Bronx.
My favorite book is called Journey to the End of the night (Voyage au bout de la nuit), which is the first novel by Luis-Ferdinand Celine (semi-autobiographical work). Even though I definitely do not share the political opinion of the author, I truly appreciate his exuberant nihilism, combined with profound cynical humour. Here is a quote from the book itself: "…I cannot refrain from doubting that there exist any genuine realizations of our deepest character except war and illness, those two infinities of nightmare,".
I favorite food, besides rabbit in a white wine/mustard sauce, is a plate of cheese, coupled with charcuterie and a great glass of red wine (preferably Saint-Emilion).
Enjoy your long weekend !
