We think that the ways the two ways the families showed love to others is that with the Capulets, when Paris asked to marry Juliet he originally said no because he cared about her happiness, act 1 scene 2 line 13 says, " And too soon marred are those so early made. Earth hath swallowed all my hopes but she; She's the hopeful lady of my earth."He doesn’t want her to be married into an unwanted marriage and ruin her life, she is his only daughter and he loves her so much. He only wanted them to get married if Paris can win Juliet's love. In act 1 scene 2 line 12 ,"But woo her, gentle Paris, get her heart: My will to her consent is but a part. And,she agreed, within her scope of choice lies my consent and fair according voice."A way that shows the Montagues love for others is that Lady Montague was so upset over her son's exile she died. If she didn't love her son she wouldn't have cared that he was exiled because he did something wrong. Act 5 scene 3 line 218, "Alas, my liege, my wife is dead tonight.Grief of my son's exile hath stopped her breath ."

We believe the way Romeo showed his love, was killing himself for his true love Juliet. In Act 5 Scene 3 Lines 119-120 Romeo ends his speech with “ Here’s to my love” drinks poison “ O true apothecary, Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss i die.” And those are the lasts words of Romeo Montague. This shows that all Romeo wants is Juliet. And though Juliet is not officially dead yet, he is willing to take his own life just because he thought his love died.

We believe that Juliet showed her love for Romeo when she is talking to herself in scene 2 act 2 line 36 she says, "O Romeo, o Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo ? Deny thy father and refuse thy name, or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, and I'll no longer be a Capulet." This shows that as long as Romeo promises he will love her back she is willing to give up everything to be with him, even her identity because of how much she loves him..

We believe another important family member is Benvolio. He is Romeo's loyal cousin who loves him dearly. In act 1 scene 1 line 159 he says, "See where he comes. So please you, step aside. I'll know his grievance or be much denied." He is saying that he is going to figure out why Romeo is so sad all of the time. If Benvolio didn't actually love and care about Romeo he wouldn't be so determined to figure out the cause of his sadness. He is always trying to help Romeo feel better and brighten his spirits even when Romeo is being annoying and negative. For example also in act 1 scene 1 line 235 Benvolio says, "By giving liberty unto thine eyes. Examine other beauties." He gives Romeo this advice to help him get over Rosaline so he can be happy.
