Difficulties forming relationships & friendships and making the relationships they do form last

Some children may be non-verbal and unable to communicate the same way as others. Other people will need to adapt and learn how to communicate with these children so they aren’t left out. 

EAL - can’t always communicate well - this doesn’t always mean they have SEN/D

Look at all aspects of a child’s performance, not just their communication

A range of difficulties linked to speech and language - phonology, stammer, poor vocabulary, immature speech, selective mutism
