Typical day job: Oversee wardrobe and make sure everything is there, work with directors and hair/ makeup, go over storyline.

Editors are responsible for producing the end product. What i mean but this is that the editor will put all the footage and audios together and chop and merge everything where needed to create the final project.

Their typical day job would be making sure that everything is edited and accurate. Editors do acquisitions, manuscript and project development, research, structural editing, stylistic editing, rewriting, fact checking, copy editing, picture research, proofreading, indexing, layout and production editing.

They would need editing skills and knowledge on how to edit to create a good performance. They would need personal skills such as confidence, attention to detail etc.

They would need a device and editing software to create the final product and headphones to be able to get the best edits such as accurate fades and overlaying audio etc.

What is an editor responsible for- An editor puts together the shots as they come in from the set. Making sure it is all in order, that it makes sense and finalizing the project to its full potential.

What is a typical day job for them? - a typical day job for a editor includes: developing story or content ideas considering the audience appeal. Checking what they have edited so far making sure it makes sense, improving any areas that are needed, creating new ideas for new or old scenes.

What skills does an editor need?- editors needs patience as the editing process could take a while. They also need creativity to be able to turn the project into something unique. They also need the skill of teamwork to make sure everyone looks good during the project.

The equipment that you would need for an editor is a computer and an editing software.

Location managers are responsible for finding locations to film for certain scenes and work with directors about where they want to film and book places to film.

A typical day would include talking to the director on their wishes and aims of filming and communicating to different people about booking certain places if needed.

Skills you need as a location manager would be to have good communication skills as you will need to arrange when places are available to be used to record if needed. Also, location managers need to have good organisational skills as they need to arrange with the director when to record at these locations.

Specific equipment would include a mobile device to contact people about booking places if needed. A camera would also be needed to share photos to directors about where the recording will take places.

A synopsis is a brief summary or general overview. You may be asked to write one for an agent, for a competition judge, or for a publisher. It usually accompanies a sample from your manuscript, to help the reader see how the sample fits into the larger story. Your synopsis gives them the detail necessary to understand your book.

A synopsis is different from a planning outline. Some writers prepare an outline before their first draft. It describes characters, breaks down the story scene by scene, and identifies plot threads. But outlines are functional, technical and often long documents. A synopsis should be elegant and concise.

A synopsis is also different from a pitch. The main purpose of the pitch is to get the audience to read a sample of your manuscript. It should indicate the central concept of the story and entice the audience. But anyone reading your synopsis has already requested a sample. The synopsis and the sample must work in harmony, a roadmap rather than an invitation.

Things you should do

*1) Stick to the point: You don’t have space in one page for your sub-plots or beautiful digressions..

*2) Spoilers sweetie: Tell the big twist, show the best bits. The reader of a synopsis is a professional. You need to show them that cool stuff happens in your story. They don’t have time to take it on faith.

*3) Trim to the bone: The synopsis is not the book, and that’s ok. The first book of A Song of Ice and Fire is told from the PoV of eight different major characters, but if you described all their arcs in a one page summary it would rob them of their force and you would end up with a muddle. Better to focus on one key arc and make reference to the others as appropriate.

*Things you should not do

*1) Commentary: Don’t tell them how great your work is. Don’t tell them how they should feel about stuff or what stuff means. Concentrate on giving a clean, clear description of what happens in the story and let them decide for themselves.

*2) Floweriness: The synopsis probably isn’t the place for clever metaphor or flashy rhetorical technique. I’m not saying write badly. But your sample will illustrate your talent for advanced assonance. Make your synopsis simple.

Evidence- Videos of discussions, setting targets for the session or the rehearsal where you are clearly involved in the discussions and decision making.

You should also include videos of the rehearsals or creating the performance which clearly show how you have created the performance material.

Under the videos you should give a short description of what is in this video and the positive input you had on the rehearsals.

H21.2 Criteria

Collaborate in the development of a creative performance project, showing the ability to suggest ideas and listen to the opinions and ideas of others.

Evidence- Videos of rehearsals, you may wish to write a mini evaluation after the rehearsals to state if you are on track or if you need any extra rehearsals. In the videos the needs to be evidence of you hoping to create the material.

This could also include any job role such as directing, sorting costume, tech, set, props, video, music, projection, choreography. Or any other elements you did for the final performance, this is also how well you do in the tech rehearsals and if you are prepared for this.

H22.1

Evidence- This is all about the final performance, how well do you know the performance material? Are you in time, the correct spacing, remembering lines, remembering the material, remember the movement. Not looking at other performers, projecting, hitting the notes, hitting the mark.
