Interesting subject for me to learn, as one of my hobby utilize some carving skills.
Based on what I've experience through my hobby, carving requires A LOT of patience, and needs to have sort of a planning before doing the carving, at least a simple planning as sort of template, a blueprint. But to me, the overall experience is a fun one, plus when sculpting the details and finishing the final product gives a sort of a sense of accomplishment, regardless of the final look.
All in all, I'm really looking forward to learn more of this subject.

On my view, this subject is very different from the practical subjects before. It is very interesting because the carving method can express our hidden talent and upgrade our skills.
Previously I've learned basics about carving and I've been to short courses for fruit carving organised by faculty club.

I think for this first week of Pastry Artistry subject; I gain a lot of knowledge that I just know a little. In my opinion, I like the carving chapter because I can see new design and a lot of beautiful and creative art of carving. Plus, I have done carving before when I took Garde Manger subject and I really had so much fun do the carving. Anyways, I enjoy searching on google to do some research on carving.

For the first week in this class, i got a new knowledge about carving, and carving is a very interesting topic to learn, and learn about ice carving, fruit and vegetable carving and tool to shape. I got about ice carving is that we need enough skills and equipment to do it, as well as patience to accept the results we've achieved; for fruit carving, we need to carve it carefully and neatly so that it appears beautiful and neat; and for vegetable carving, we need to carve slowly and neatly because vegetable carving is smaller than fruit carving.
