• Applicants will be able to skip as many as 26 FAFSA questions, depending on their individual circumstances. Some applicants will need to complete as few as 18 questions, taking less than 10 minutes.

What You Can Do No

• Make sure to create your StudentAid.gov account—and remember your username and password so you can access and submit the 2024–25 FAFSA form when it’s available.

• Find out if your parent(s) will need to be contributors (contribute their info on your FAFSA form).

• If your parent(s) will need to contribute to your form, make sure each contributor creates their own StudentAid.gov account. Even if a contributor doesn’t have a Social Security number, they will be able to create an account when the 2024–25 form goes live.

• Parents MUST provide consent on the form for it to be processed. If Parent says no, student's form will be automatically rejected.

Applicants must be from a district that is a current MASPA member

Must have at least a 2.8 high school cumulative GPA or higher

Must be admitted to a program in the field of education at a college or university

Must be a member of one of the federal ethnic classifications listed on the application form

Black , Hispanic or Latino , Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander , American Indian or Alaska Native , Asian , Other (specify)

Application must be completed in full and emailed no later than May 15, 2024 to be considered

Application Procedure: Applicants must submit the following:

1. A completed application form (attached or in counseling)

2. Submit a personal essay (see specifics below) which is written by you alone

a) Include in the essay information about yourself and your educational and career goals.

b) Do not however, merely list activities and awards since these can be listed elsewhere on the application.

c) Instead, help the selection committee understand who you are as a student and why you feel you will be a good educator.

3. Provide copies of the most recent grade report showing cumulative GPA

4. Submit with the application one letter of recommendation (e.g., teacher, principal, counselor).
