Because they feared that the ferocious dragon would one day destroy the world.
  One day a boy named Bob went to explore the cave, inside he found A bunch of jewels, he cleared them aside… and found a sleeping dragon inside! The dragon drearilyopened his eyes, he was hungry! And he saw a snack right in front of him. He licked his lips and swallowed Bob whole. Then he went to terrorize the village,  he crushed  carriages, blew fire at the houses, and hoarded horses and soon killed everyone in the village.
  The king heard of this and sent men to the site of destruction, to kill the dragon.

As the flaming fireballs destroyed the burning town, all the terrified townspeople rushed to their houses while a crazy old man was screaming random things. While the deadly dragon devoured a burnt door, the townspeople made their escape as they laid low to avoid being torched slaves. Suddenly, the dragon lifted his thick, slick head as he spotted the crazy old man screaming his head off. In a second, the elderly man was in the dragon's belly and the rotten reptile flew away feeling delighted at the destruction he laid.

Awaking the children and adults; chaotic scenes and screams flooded the streets: children screaming for their mother; aged ones left helplessly lost in the the fierce, fiery flames. He was like the wind in a tornado or hurricane, making everything shiver and shudder. Houses burned up and became ashes so quickly that it was just like corn kernels poppingand becoming popcorn. “Oh my!” Screamed all the woman and children, “The monster will kill us all.” It was like a disaster; and even the biggest , bravest warriors couldn’t defeat the beast. The Dragon swept through the village, burning down houses farms, then a warrior rode in on horse to save his village. The warrior drew his sword soulfully ready to stab and attack. The dragon roared dreadfully and crashed a wagon next to him, the warrior charged and jumped into the dragons jaw and stabbed him , the dragon was dead but he caused great destruction. For months the villagers reconstructed the town, and mourned for the the medieval warrior.
