we undertake the role of re analyzing the "But it was only a $1000 job case" before attending our class. While the case was long, verifying the facts took up a broad part of the hour as well. When we went to the classroom, we jumped into the hurdle of risk management, the topic discussed in the previous semester. A principal purpose of risk management is to recognize and reduce danger or potential losses. This topic really resonates with me because of the perspectivity that I have in identifying and solving issues. One new element that was different in this session was risk formula referring to the number of damages and the possibility of it to happen. First and foremost, our instructor highlighted some of the techniques of risk management namely risk avoidance, risk transfer and risk mitigation.Another completely new feature in the area of corporate risk management was the study for me. Subsequently, we put our learned principles into use, analyzing the case study and speaking about concerns and making creative choices. Along with that, the professor further illustrated individual and group case studies which actually serves to enhance the learning experiences.

The session ventured into the punch-line summary of the BPS Directive stating the responsibilities when procuring commodities and services using public funds. Topics to be discussed included exclusions in the agreement and compliance with trade agreements as well costs and compensation for public works and services covered by the agreement laws. The discussion then deepened into the concept of the Broader Public Sector (BPS) ensuring that this category comprises entities funded by the government but not identified as governmental organizations such as universities, hospitals, colleges, school boards.

At this specific class, the professor assigned us to divide into squads and look into the executive overview collaboratively. The teacher interacts actively which is demonstrated by asking each group members about the progress, participation, and discussions. As I remember that i got late into this class just by 2 minutes, also working together we came up with the summary of the case study highlighting the main points, give informed analysis, and recommend ways to mitigate risks. Through an informed evaluation of each participant's views, we collectively created pointed synopses. Finally, we presented a group case study from each group at the last class, indicating the end of our joint study.

on the second week the subject matters started by studying the public agency presentation. Students are divided into groups where they can do their research as well as the presentations before the audiences. The discussion included information on who the agency members are, what they do, what they spend money on, who they buy their products from, and statistical classification (and some representative agency suppliers if possible). The play performed just the way it was supposed to and the professor took good care to provide just and fair grades for the actors participating in the play. The class delved deaper into cooperative purchasing as the latter part of the session. The types of cooperative purchases such as Piggybacked, Joint, Consortium and Formal Cooperative Purchasing were encountered. Finally, everyone learned about the benefits and drawbacks of corporate purchasing through the whole course.

In the class session, we researched a news article that focused on computer leasing dubious dealings in Toronto, investigated by Justice Denise Bellamy. This scandal involved a sudden hike in a contract of $40 million to $100 million for the purchase of some computers. The investigation finally exposed the greed, wastefulness, and dishonesty, that contributed to the company's fall. Also, our lecturer took it a notch higher and talked about common law and its complexity as well, focusing on the law of agency. This rule is a restriction of both principals and agents within the legal framework. Besides, concept of requirements for legal binding of contract law was talked through, which we could use. Studying bidders' rights also uncovered yet another dimension where the depth of our knowledge deepened.

I had to skip the lecture because of having a headache and fever prior. Nonetheless, I achieved the maximum learning by looking closely at the corresponding textbook chapters and having a careful look at the slides in order to ensure that I did not miss the essential topics of this week. The main aim of the procurement module is to provide a firm grip on what the goals and principles of public procurement are, along with the concept of competitive bidding. Under this unit, I managed to have a broader understanding of the types of competitive tendering documents like RFI, RFEI, RFPQ, RFP, RFQ, and RFT. Although being absent, I put the necessary effort and sent my individual case analysis earlier than the deadline which turned out to be as a result of several days of studying. Other than that, the professor introduced the group case analysis due the next week.

I reflected on all the matters and particulars at the beginning so that it would take me back in the memories of each module. Sarah Denomy happened to be our professor through the whole semester and we couldn't have had luckier. I aimed to summarize public procurement's role and responsibilities within a public organization, and from what I see, the goal was achieved.

We submitted our copy of the presentation slides just before the class. Everyone dressed formally and I wrote my key points in one paper note to reduce my tension. Our professor was very supportive throughout the presentation. Our group was in the middle of to present. It went well by presenting and everything ended as great and we got our marks suddenly after the class.

Being out of town for Module 9, I couldn’t be there for the class session. While I opted for being passive in discovering content through my FOL website, I monitored others' discussion posts which included a summary of the lesson. The resources of the course that are readily available online directed my attention to the procurement evaluation methods mostly concentrating on the criteria for selecting suppliers. They also highlight the fact that suppliers are identified from proposals made in competitive bidding documents. Additionally, I gained insights into the specified evaluation criteria and the three proposal phases: proposal phase of pre-bid, bid phase, and close phase. Despite my non-present in lectures, I quickly adapted to way of staying informed and engaged with the course materials accessible online.

This segment further explains both the admissibility of the gifts and public agencies. Ethical matters in public procurement such as scandals, fraud, corruption, misuse, briberies are various ones; I was excited to know every issue about the details and the professor was giving examples for each issue. At last, together with my teammates we just submitted our last version of SILEx project which was the outcome of our efforts.

This day turned out amazing and the completion of this project was our main concern which we kept on discussing even after our class. We are almost done with the rough copy now. At the end of our session, we came up with alternatives, which were to hold an online meetup for the further editing as well.

I now have a clearer knowledge of requisitions which are forms completed by users inside the company to state their purchase requests. As I have been through the requisitions assignment already in my second term, I can certainly connect well with the same topic now. We looked at the technical requirements of products and services —their brand names, design characteristics and performance standards—to better know the general market information. Furthermore, the central theme of the talk was on analysis of specifications and associated points to consider which are; budget constraints, costs, targeted users and scope of work. Also we were working on our silex report and presentations.
