ISLAM, IMAN AND IHSAN

Islam:

Refers to the outward practices and acts of worship that form the foundation of a Muslim's life. It involves physical acts of obedience to Allah, such as prayer, fasting, and charity.

Iman:

Refers to the inner faith that guides a believer's life. Iman encompasses belief in Allah, the unseen world, and the articles of faith. It strengthens a Muslim's trust in Allah's wisdom and justice

Ihsan:

Represents the highest level of faith and devotion, where a person worships Allah as if they see Him, knowing that even if they do not see Him, He sees them. It emphasizes sincerity and excellence in all actions.

THE SIGNS OF THE HEREAFTER

Hadith of Jibril mentions key signs that indicate the approach of the Day of Judgment and Prophet (PBUH) responded with two main signs.

Some of these signs include:

1. The Slave Girl, gjving, birh to her Master

• Some scholars interpret this as a sign of familial conflict

• The one who gives birth will become the servant of the one who is born

•1.e.: Children "lord over their parents, showing, disrespect and defiance

On the other hand, parents desperately try to please their children to the point that they look like slaves.

2. "The Barefoot, Destitute Shepherds Competing, Against Each Other Raising, Lofty Buildings

• Scholars interpret this second sign as shepherds who are very poor. but once the situation changes for them, they will start competing, with one another over who can build the tallest building,

• Scholars often associate this sign with the behavior of humans nowadays in which they promote materialism and compete to see who has the nicest car, the latest gadgets, and other worldly wealth that appears precious to the eye.

Belief in Allah, Malaikat and Kutub

ALLAH

We believe that Allah is the one and only God, by action, verbally and heart. We also follows all His Commands and leaves all his Prohibitions. We acknowledges Allah's existence and his divinity that is he is the Lord, the Creator, the Sovereign of the World and the Manager of all affairs. We believe that he has the (99) Best Names and the (20) Perfect Attributes.

MALAIKAT

We acknowledge the existence of Malaikat or Angels, beings created by Allah from light (nur) who carry out His commands. We believe that Angels have various specific roles assigned by Allah, for example Malaikat Jibril, The Messenger Angel who delivered revelations to Prophets including Muhammad PBUH. We believe that Angels are ghaib (invisible) to humans but can appear in human form if Allah wills. They also have no gender and most importantly they cannot sin or disobey Him.

BOOKS

We believe that the Books are revelations containing guidance, laws and wisdom from Allah, tailored to specific peoples and times. Among of the Revealed Books stated in Quran includes Taurat, Zabur, Injil and Quran. We believe that The Quran is the eternal and unaltered word of Allah. It serves as a universal guide for all humanity until the Day of Judgment. It also confirms, supersedes previous scriptures and discern truth from falsehood in earlier texts.

Wrong Ways of Believing

Allah, Malaikat and Books

Superficial Faith

Focusing only on outward practices while neglecting inner faith and spirituality.

Example: Performing acts of worship for show or social approval rather than out of sincere devotion to Allah (riya).

Having a mechanical approach to worship without understanding its deeper meanings and purposes.

Neglecting Practical Aspects

To claim belief in Allah, His angels, or His books and yet fail to live by guidance.

Example: Believing in the Qur’an but neglecting daily prayers, fasting, or other obligatory acts.

Failing to exhibit moral character and ethical behavior, such as honesty, kindness, and justice, despite professing faith.

Conclusion

Practical Steps to Strength Faith

1)Daily Reflection: Spend time daily reflecting on Allah's signs, the angels' roles, and the guidance of the Qur'an.

2)Join Islamic Communities: Engage in discussions with enlightened people and scholars who can answer some of your questions for a better understanding.

3)Practice consistently, for faith grows with worship, charity, and remembrance of Allah.

4)Make Dua: Pray to Allah for guidance and an increase in faith.

PROPHET HEREAFTER AND QADA AND QADAR

DEFINITION

PROPHET:

OR NABI IS A PERSON CHOSEN BY ALLAH TO GUIDE PEOPLE BY DELIVERING HIS TEACHING.

MORAL LEADER AND EXAMPLE OF RIGHTEOUS

EXAMPLE: PROPHET MUHAMMAD SAW

HEREAFTER

IT IS THE ETERNAL LIFE THAT BEGINS AFTER A PERSON DIES UNTIL THEY ARE RESURRECTED ON THE DAY OF JUDGMENT.

EXAMPLE: ALAM BARZAKH,DAY OF JUDGEMENT

QADA QADAR

QADA:

: REFERS TO ALLAH DECISION ABOUT EVERYTHING THAT WILL HAPPEN IN THE UNIVERSE.

• ALLAH PLAN, WHICH WAS WRITTEN IN AL-LAWH AL-MAHFUZ (THE PRESERVED TABLET) BEFORE THE CREATION OF THE UNIVERSE.

QADAR: REFERS TO THE ACTUAL IMPLEMENTATION ALLAH DECISION

IT INCLUDES THE EXACT MEASURES ON HOW IT HAPPEN, TIMING, AND CIRCUMSTANCES OF ALL EVENTS

REASON IT IS CONSIDERED AS ELEMENT THAT BUILD IMAN

PROPHET:

Belief in the prophets ensures that Muslims recognize Allah's guidance through His messengers. They delivered Allah's revelations, teaching humanity how to live righteously.

HEREAFTER:

The belief in the Hereafter (Akhirah) gives purpose to life. It reminds Muslims that their deeds have consequences and that they will be judged by Allah. This belief inspires moral accountability and strengthens trust in divine justice.

QADA QADAR:

Believing in Allah's divine will reflects trust in His wisdom and power. It helps Muslims understand that everything happens according to Allah's plan, fostering patience and acceptance of both good and bad circumstances in life.

DEVIATED BELIEFS IN PROPHET, HEREAFTER AND QADA' WAL QADAR

Deviated beliefs in prophet:

Some religions accept some prophets but deny others, such as rejecting Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as the final messenger, despite the Qur'an confirming his role.

Deviated beliefs in hereafter:

Some people reject the belief in resurrection and accountability after death

e.g. The Quraysh of Makkah denied the concept of being resurrected after death

Deviated beliefs in Qada' wal Qadar:

Jabariyyah

this group believes humans have no free will and are like puppets controlled entirely by Allah's decree. They deny human responsibility for actions, which goes against the Qur'an's teaching that humans will be judged for their deeds.

Qadariyyah

This group believes that Allah has no role in predestination and that humans create their own destiny. This contradicts Islamic teachings that Allah has knowledge and control over everything.

Conclusion

Believing in the hereafter, Qada' and Qadar, and prophets is essential. The hereafter reminds us of life after death, resurrection, and accountability for our actions, leading to either Paradise or Hell. Qada' and Qadar teach that Allah has planned everything, but humans still have free will and are responsible for their choices. Prophets were sent by Allah to guide people, with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) being the final messenger

IHSAN

Verified Faith (Iman Al-Tahqiqi)

When someone believes in Allah strongly, he reflects on the fact that the Compassionate Creator is present and watching, and does not seek for the attention of other than Him, and he thinks that turning to other than Him and seeking help from other than Him is at odds with proper courtesy towards that status of Ihsan.

IKHLAS

Because of the pressures of people, we may forget Allah and start acting to please them. Yet, Allāh’s pleasure must be at the basis of our deeds. If He is pleased, the shunning of the entire world is of no importance

Following the Sunnah

To follow the sunnah recalls the Noble Messenger (SAW) directly, and such recollection is transformed into recollection of the divine presence (ihsan), even though the observance of sunnah in eating, drinking or sleeping.

Solat

The doa of “Attahiyyatu..” is the conversation between Allah (SWT), Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Gabriel (AS) and malaikah. While reciting this doa at the solat, we can recall that conversation and again we can feel that we are at the presence of Allah.

ADAB TOWARDS NEIGHBOUR

NICE TREATMENT:

Ibn 'Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Jibril kept on recommending that I treat my neighbours well until I thought that he would order me to treat them as my heirs.“

OFFERING GIFT

A'isha said, "I said, 'Messenger of Allah, I have two neighbours. To whom should I give my gifts?' He replied, 'To the one whose door is nearer to you.’”

APPRECIATION FOR THE NATURE AND ENVIRONMENT

Nature as a Divine Blessing

Nature is a gift from the Creator, meant to sustain and benefit all living beings. The beauty of the sky, rivers, mountains, and forests reminds us of the greatness of creation. The Qur’an states:
“And We have made from water every living thing...” (Surah Al-Anbiya: 30)

2. Human Responsibility as Stewards (Khalifah)

We are entrusted as guardians of the Earth (Khalifah fil Ard). This means preserving, not exploiting nature. Islam teaches moderation in consumption and discourages wastefulness.

3. Importance of Environmental Conservation

Clean air and water are essential for health and life. Deforestation, pollution, and climate change harm both humans and animals. Protecting nature ensures future generations can enjoy its benefits.
