Today was a hard day for me because of the headache but despite this ıt was very enjoyable and I learned too much things. The relaxive athmosphere is very helpful for me.In my clasroom I used to combine the listening materials and activities with authentic ones. If I thought the listening activity was not appropriate for my students I prefered to use authentic ones. But today I realised that I can differentiate and apply the activities to my class according to their levels. Up to now I thought ıt was too hard to differentiate , demonstrate and apply the listening activities from course books but today I realized it was not too hard and ıt would be useful for some activities. From now I prefer differentiate the activity firstly. If I can not do this then I prefer to use authentic activities.

The most common problem in my district related to teaching speaking in language class is afraiding of making mistakes that this prevents the students from saying more. They only use English for giving feedback and answering but not during the task. They are good at using the language they already know but they do not want to try to use new language. I think the ideas and suggestions I have taken away from today can help me cope with that particular problem.Because there are some good solution suggestions that I Did not think before. For example to say students that they must make mistakes and I correct their mistakes and ıt is my job.İf they don’t make mistakes I can’t do my job.By talking like this they may feel more comfortable and relax to talk.Another suggestion was minimilazing the correction not correcting all mistakes but only mistakes about content. If student’s afraids of making mistakes should increase maybe they will start willing to use English. I think these are good solutions for the problem

I Did not change the activity for weakers but ı dad an activity for strongers
A)Write 3 things which farmer do
.
.
.
B) Write 3 things you can do at the farm.
.
.
.

For GİST READİNG
Again I did not change the activity for weaker students but I thought ıt is very easy for stronger ones. So I added an activity for them.
-Read the text again and Write the names of people and what they are doing under pictures
(I used the the photos of 5-c)
DETAİLED READİNG
This time I differentiated the activity by adding an activity for weaker students.
READ THE TEXT AGAİN AND DECİDE TRUE OR FALSE

1) Linda is collecting eggs.[ ]. [ ]
2) Tim is watering the flowers [ ]. [ ]
3) Roger is riding a horse . [ ]. [ ]
4) Carol is feeding the sleep

For strongers I used the same activity on book
READ THE TEXT AGAİN ANSWER THE QUESTİONS
1) How many people are there on the farm?
2) Why is Linda watering the flowers?
3) which animal is Carol feeding?
4) Is Peter collecting the eggs?

POST READİNG
MAKE A POSTER OF A FARM

QUESTİON 2

I think it is important to prepare the right task for right level. And also planning is very important. If I prepare a well-planned activity which includes different types of activities I can solve most problems.

Because students learn vocabulary through daily conversation and through independent reading. By using visuals and realias while eliciting and drilling the meaning of the words, students encouragement may increase. By repeating the words with different ways students explose the language constantly. It may also challenge students to use new words because of focusing on content.

1) According to me the most common problem related to assesment in my l area is focusing on summative assessment too much so formative assesment may be ignored.Because formative assesment needs more detailed analysis and time. Teachers in my local area still do not notice the importance of improvement of skills during process. They may not be aware of formative assesment ‘s necessities. Also they may not have enough knowledge about the effects of formative assesment on students.

2) What do you consider the greatest benefit of being in a Professional Development Community for teachers of English in your local context ?

Professional Development can benefit English teachers By providing them with the develop their skills and be successful in their career. In a Professional Development Community for English teachers, educators can share diverse perspectives, teaching strategies, and resourses, fostering a dynamic environment for continuous improvement.
