We are asked to study. But now everyone in fact it is no longer something that differentiates us. We are asked to have experience to be hired but we are not hired because we do not have experience yet

This representation of youth is very frequent in portuguese media but it signals a generalization that does not correspond to the totality of Portuguese youth. It is a represenattion that is unfair because it is reductive.

the values and ideals of our society are totally altered and weakened.

We want to be young people with bright futures, but what we do for ourselves only leads us in the opposite direction.

The question that remains is...

Do we really care about building our future, or do we just want momentary pleasures?

Of course, it's a fictional TV show and it's probably not meant to be very realistic at all, but it should at least be addressed and acknowledged that this is a very privileged way of life and looks in the show. It's also shown as the "ideal" and as the way everyone wants to live their life, which of course isn't true at all. The show is about teenagers, but most of the actors are adults, so not very representative in that way, either.

A refreshing and (a bit surprisingly) much more relatable option for a TV show about privileged teenagers is Young Royals, check it out!

A more balanced approach would be to create stories that, while still engaging and dramatic, offer a more nuanced and authentic portrayal of teenage life. Series that showcase characters with diverse ambitions, realistic struggles, and a broader perspective on what it truly means to be young today—without romanticizing destructive behaviors or portraying excess as the norm.

An alternative would be changing roles, showcasing multiple aspirations per child, or depicting diverse careers beyond the common stereotypes, promoting inclusivity and even more possibilities

For me it would have been fine if there is some kind of classification but generalising entire generation like gen Z is non sense.

I got to notice this through X as people or mocking about the article which states: People are using Mobiles or tech devices to escape reality.

Blaming tech and dismissing an entire generation as disconnected from reality because they find some interesting ways to engage with the world. And almsot everythinf is driven by technology these days

Clickbait is being used to spread misinformation and unnecessary panic on certain topics. An alternative is to be direct and concrete in news headlines is a much more effective and ethical alternative to clickbait. A good headline should grab attention without misleading the reader.
