Last April, I completed my practicum at School 14, where I taught 7th-grade students. I used grammar and vocabulary books provided by the government, which helped students improve their grammar skills and learn topic-related Vocabulary.

As we know, grammar and vocabulary lessons can be difficult for students to learn. Some students struggle to understand grammar structures and do not use new words correctly when forming sentences.This presentation aims to share exploratory action research findings that focus on challenges related to students' understanding and use of new vocabulary in sentences, as well as ways to overcome these difficulties.

My teacher was satisfied with my teaching methods, but I was not completely satisfied with myself. While some of my students did well, others struggled to fully understand the topic. When it came to my vocabulary lesson, the exercises were excellent, and the students memorized all the words, especially when they played the game. However, in the grammar lesson, some students had difficulties. I explained the grammar concepts in detail, but they still had trouble translating active sentences into passive ones. As a result, my exercises were somewhat challenging for them.

I believe my main challenges were a lack of teaching methods and self-confidence. I relied on just one activity, which made the lesson feel boring for some students. Another issue was that I couldn’t find engaging materials or games to make the lesson more interesting.

After the lesson, all the observer teachers said that my grammar lesson was well-organized. However, the monitoring teachers pointed out that I did not include enough activities and games. They advised me to find more engaging and interactive games to better involve my students in the learning process.

She also noted that I created a positive learning environment before starting the lesson and that my organization was well-structured. She said my grammar explanation was simple yet understandable. Additionally, she pointed out that using the blackboard was effective and that the handouts were very useful for students during the lesson.

However, my friend suggested that I should ask more questions related to students' interests. She also recommended incorporating more engaging activities or games, as students seemed to enjoy interactive learning.
