I currently work at NSW DCCEEW (Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water) as the comms lead for a marine conservation project called 'Seabirds to Seascapes'. Hello! My name's Caroline and I work as the internal communications manager for a youth mental health organisation called Orygen. I've been in that role for about six years and before that I worked in comms for the University of Melbourne. Here's a pic of the two floofballs in my life, Candy the cat and Milly the dog. These two bring me a lot of joy because they are incredibly goofy. They also serve as excellent alarm clocks – particularly Candy because she is the most food-motivated cat I have ever known and in the morning she sits on my chest and meows until I feed her.

I'm Jocelyn and I joined the Queensland Health's media unit (proactive and reactive comms daily!) in April after about seven years of being a journalist. I quickly discovered how quickly the other side of media was and I'm eager to learn the strategic side of comms. The picture is Paco who I adopted from RSPCA in March. He brings so much joy to my life. Why the name Paco? Well, it's a Spanish nickname for Francisco that I like...and it rhymes with Taco haha. I come from a Spanish speaking background so this kitten is bilingual too.

Hey there, I'm Nicole (or Nic). I'm a project and engagement officer in the Animal Biosecurity team at NSW Dept. Primary industries and Regional Development and soon to be heading on secondment at the interim CDC's One Health unit. I have a background in social research, engagement and basic comms and have used these skills in a number of our emergency animal disease responses, most recently for avian influenza. I love travelling despite being a notorious home body and am most happiest just hanging with my husband, two daughters and our clown/sloth-dog Rigby who is my trusty WFH wing-woman.

Hi! My name's Sam - I'm an Assistant Director of Media for the Australian Border Force within the Department of Home Affairs. I have an extensive background in law enforcement and government media, supervising the NSW Police Force Media Unit and as a State and Federal Ministerial Media Advisor. It feels like a lifetime ago I was on the other side of the camera as a television journalist and producer for Channel Nine. I have dealt with many significant operational crises in my time (mainly law enforcement based), so I am fascinated to integrate my real-world experience with theoretical learning and shifting my perspective on crisis communications for different organisations and sectors. When I am not in work attire, you'll usually find me in gym attire, living a very active lifestyle with my partner in Sydney's inner west, but regularly travelling back to Newcastle to be the best aunty to my niece and girlfriend's kids :)
