In the beginning of the novel, Mami could be described as undisturbed because when Ana Rosa was speaking of being a writer when she grows up, she didn't bothered her like she couldn't make it or saying to be quiet.

Mami was undisturbed because when the family was searching for the notebook for Guario's job except for Ana Rosa, she didn't join them and was making food like she wasn't bothered but she told them to come and eat.

Towards the end of the novel, Mami could be described as hopeless because Guario died while he tried to protect Ana Rosa and she thinks it is everyone that cause Guario to get killed.
