The fight against prejudice is not futile because there have been many successful instances in which women and the minorities have enjoyed much more equality nowadays. This is true despite of the opposing viewpoint that prejudice is still prevalent today. Take for instance, the prejudice that the elderly are useless and weak. However, prejudice have decreased dramatically with education being introduced to the mass population. Thus, the fight is not absolutely futile.

Balanced Stand: While some people believed that the fight against prejudice is not futile as we are getting more educated and exposed to many cultures and traditions. There are many others who do not agree to this statement, as people's mindset cannot be changed easily, due to the influence of new media.

OV-R: Firstly, with regards to the new media, the new media has presented many videos that show prejudice towards a certain group of people.When the younger generation get exposed to these videos, they will grow up in believing that prejudice is normal.

Based on the assumption that the fight against prejudice is futile, we can reason that it is because the mindset of people cannot be easily changed. This view is open to doubt, therefore i personally feel that efforts in the fight against prejudice has not been futile as the world is more aware and educated of the differences that exist amoung the people in our society.

Balanced stand

- It might seem that the war against prejudice is in vain. However, we have to consider the opposing view that there is hope in fighting acts of prejudice as the future lies in the younger generation........ against the prior judgment as reflected by the younger generations where youth are more educated.

(OV) The fight against prejudice is futile as our environment is affecting us adversely in this fast past society. As a result, people do not have the time to understand more about each other when our individualistic tendencies set in. (R) However, I beg to differ as there are actions taken to fight prejudice. For instance, public have taken initiative to set up social media platforms such as The Real Singapore, which is a website that does not have any government intervention.

I do concede that there are some efforts in reducing

prejudice in the world through influences from education, mass media and society.

However, I believe that these efforts are not enough to eliminate prejudice completely from society.
