He is completely shaken by his father crying over him. Miss O’Brien thinks things are going bad since the jury might associate him to the other actual criminals in court.
There is a flashback to when he got taken by the police. Two women are talking about the murder, and Steve is sitting in earshot. After hearing some of the conversation, he runs away. When he gets home, the news are also talking about Mr. Nesbitt. The detectives Williams and Karyl enter the house to simply ask Steve some questions, but handcuffed him right away. Both his brother and his mom are confused and panicked. Mrs. Harmon tries to prevent the detectives to snatch her son like that, by even trying to follow the police car.
Back to the present, Miss O’Brien is analyzing Petrocelli’s "cheap trick", who bought up the horrible photographs again to be sure they’ve seen them, even making them have the pictures with them at home for the weekend.
He hates those pictures and can’t stop thinking of how Nesbitt died.
In court, the detectives are talking about what they did on the crime scene and what they found there. They say Mr. Nesbitt died by drowning in his own blood.
After the court, Steve asked O’Brien what she was doing in the weekend to get a taste of what the world outside the prison looked like.
But then, the talk turns to Steve thinking O’Brien thinks he’s guilty and he starts thinking about Sunset who got judged guilty and how many time he had to stay if he was judged guilty too.
Steve then writes down about Ernie, a guy who got into a jewelry store to rob it but couldn’t even get out of the place because he didn’t have the buzzer to open the door. Ernie says he isn’t guilty because he hadn’t taken anything, everything stayed in the store, but he was still taken to jail. He gets accused of armed robbery and possession of a deadly weapon even tho he didn’t have a gun.
His mother came and gave him a Bible. Then, she cried just like his father.

Steve thinks about a reason why so many fights are happening in prison and writes his thoughts down. Then, his mom comes to visit him again. She smiles but her voice cracks like if she’s trying not to cry again, or like if she was mourning him like if he was dead.
Monday, it was the State’s case with all the star witnesses. There was Mrs. Henry, a librarian who saw a fight involving King and Nesbitt at the drugstore just before the murder, and Bobo himself. Richard Evans is still in prison uniform. He says everything Petrocelli and Briggs wants to know. He didn’t get a boring life as he is accused of several crimes, like B&E, grand theft auto, taking a car radio and killing someone in a fight. He talks about the murder as if nothing really happened, even stating he got some fried chicken after the crime, which sounds inhuman because he didn’t do anything about the body. Briggs talks to him about the 25 years penalty for felony murder, which he just admitted he did, but he doesn’t seem like he actually cares and he keeps saying King was the one who fired the gun.
Then, he says Steve Harmon was supposed to give him a signal like what there were no cops in the drugstore, but he didn’t know what. Steve did nothing while getting out of Nesbitt’s drugstore, so Bobo thought everything was ok and that he could get in. He also said he asked Osvaldo if he wanted to take part in the felony, proving the 14 years old kid wasn’t scared at all.
