For World Earth Day 2020 6^th class was assigned to complete a project for Earth Day. We were given multiple choices of the type of project that we could make. I decided to make an art piece as I love to do anything associated with art. While I was thinking of ideas for the project, not even a minute before I had started I knew what I wanted to do.

 I wanted a meaning in the painting rather than to just paint a pretty picture. The meaning in the painting is futuristic and almost even sci-fi. The painting shows a futuristic world, it shows many things that somebody might not understand by looking at it.  

In ancient times people would consider left to be incorrect and evil, as most people in the world are right-handed. Right would have meant the opposite to left. Nowadays, it is not as much as a big difference as it was then. But in my painting it is the opposite way.

On the left side it shows half of the river blue with fish swimming throughout it. The left side has many trees and lots of vegetation on the ground. It shows a blue sky with white clouds and wind turbines in the distance.

On the right side it shows a dirty, polluted river with no fish and only rubbish littered and swimming through the mucky waters. It shows deforestation and all the trees have died away and there’s only one left with a dried up puddle beside it. It also shows a hot atmosphere and a very dry, barren land with a factory releasing fossil fuels into the air.

I hope this inspires people to look after our planet on Earth Day 2020.
