It was a good depiction for how some of those have felt especially in the opening with d-day. The film did great in that aspect, showing people the truth of war and that the reality of it is that there are many sacrifices in war. Some of it just reminds me of stories i have heard from family members who have partaken in some of those battles and wars in the past years. It really is just a reminder to me about the price of freedom and what it costs. It gave us a glimpse of how much determination, heart, and pride you had to have in order to join the fight of WWII. You see as the movie progresses, the brotherhood bond between the captain and his unit grows. You also see the sadness that comes with being in the war. With the example of Private Ryan's brothers all dying in WWII. When Ryan is told the news, he feels as if it is unfair for him to go home when he didn't earn the right to. He felt as if he owed it to his unit to continue to fight alongside them. It accurately shows the terror and trauma that is caused by a conflict. The movie may have been filled with unrealistic survivable situations as a Hollywood production but it got "the point across." The film showed the brutality of war and what can do to a human being. The film showed what many men had to go through in the Second World War and the sheer pain that they were afflicted with. Overall, the movie was great and I would highly recommend it to others.
