Porque é conhecida??
A adolescente sueca de 16 anos ficou mundialmente conhecida por seu ativismo ambiental e foi considerado a personalidade do ano pela revista time um dia depois de ter sido chamada de "pirralha" pelo presidente Jair Bolsonaro.
Mas foi só por causa disso??
Tudo começou em agosto de 2018,mais precisamente em uma sexta-feira. Ainda com 15 anos, greta decidiu faltar á aula para protestar contra as recentes ondas de calor e os incêndios que afetaram a Suíça. 
Ela foi ao parlamento do país e sentou se em frente ao prédio com um cartaz que dizia :
"Em greve escolar pelo clima!"
Foi dessa forma, sozinha,  que ela iniciou uma onda de mobilizações a cada sexta-feira, junto com outros milhões de jovens do mundo inteiro que se inspiraram nela, para que os políticos e autoridades cumprissem as metas para reduzir a emissão de gases de efeito estufa. O movimento ficou conhecido como "Fridays foi future".
