Flipped Classrooms
This video was about flipping the instructional process and recording the actual lessons and allow students to listen at home and do the actual work that would have been at home can now be done in class and that allows the teacher to have time to walk around the room and become a tutor, guide and firefighter!!!
We learned the concept of the lesson being taught at home as the homework and the teacher having time to help guide kids in class the next day.
Providing access to technology for students that can't receive the lesson at home. (Technology availability???)
It would address the engagement in the class by letting kids learn at home and extend the learning

The Case for and Against Homework
The article discussed research studies regarding the pros and cons of homework.
We didn't know that research shows that there is a lower effect size for the younger grade level students.
We disagree with the position that homework is horrible/has no value.
We're frustrated that some teachers say that they don't assign homework because kids just won't do it. Also, some teachers assign work that they didn't get to in class as homework (not the right way to do homework).

"One size Doesn't Fit All"
This article was about individualizing homework and giving student choice in learning strategies to meet a set standard.
4. Letting students choose the strategy they learn best -creates intrinsic motivation to do the "practice" and therefore engage in their own learning.
5. I do not disagree with anything
6. This practice fits perfectly with the work we are doing to move toward standard based grading and the role of homework in learning.
