The Act of Uniformity of 1559 set up the Elizabethan church and Protestantism. It restored the English Prayer Book but kept many of the old practices. This did Catholics some rights in their freedom of religion. However, this was nothing compared to what they had during the rule of Mary. It is without a doubt that Elizabeth was still much in favor of the Protestant revolution and the ideals.
