Hi guys, my name is Alex, short for Alexandria, and I'll be reading Chasing Brooklyn with you.

I'm a senior who enjoys reading, discussing, and eating, with a habit of zoning out just to read. I will read anything if it's interesting, from mystery to fantasy and from dystopian (kinda like apocalypse setting) to romantic comedies. The only books I don't really read are how-to books.

If you ever need recommendations for books/series or have any questions, let me know! I'll be here. Also, feel free to post about yourself if you'd like; it's not mandatory, but I'd love to know more about you both!

So, to start off, could you guys tell me about why you chose Chasing Brooklyn? It's an interesting book with an unusual style of writing, so I'm curious. I personally chose it because of just how the author writes.

Also, what do you like about it so far? The writing style, the characters, or even just the subject matter? Let me know! :3

I chose chasing Brooklyn because I like how it tells the story like if it barley happened to her and she remembers everything that happene
d like 1 or 2 years ago. Something I like about the book right now is how she´s trying to figure out how is lucca trying to communicate with her and stuff like that.

Also just by looking at the pages seemed like a book easy for me to read since I don't really like reading, this book so far has me really curious its like a real life situation. I really think this book will be one of my favorites! I hope so see you guys around school some day. :)

Hey guys, sorry for the late post! Whenever you guys post, by the way, make sure you're logged in to your google account on here. Whenever you sign in through google, it automatically says your name. I made it public, so hopefully, if you guys couldn't do it before, you could do it now.
In response to Haylin, I'm enjoying bits and pieces here and there, and the overall writing style :3 Despite the beginning mainly being about mourning and such, there are some bits I find entertaining.
Since the chapters are listed as days, do you guys have a favorite day yet? Any particular reason? And, between Brooklyn and Nico, which character do you like more? How come?
My personal favorite day is way back into the book - on Saturday, January 7th, in Nico's point of view (as he's the narrator on this day). The song reference surprised me and made me laugh despite the subject matter. I also like Nico's character more than Brooklyn simply because of his mood and how he acts.

Hey Alexandria , I believe I fixed it now ! Sorry about that I wasn't so sure of why it wouldn't say my name but thank you ! So far this book has been good . My favorite part if this has been in page 223, Fri, Jan. 27th- Brooklyn... this is my favorite because its like a very sad, emotional poem made by someone specifically famous but made by Brooklyn and its so touchy because its all like a real life situation. To my perspective both Brooklyn and Nico have been my favorite.. Nico seems to be trying to help Brooklyn and she actually seems to be improving from the sadness of what she has gone through.

Hey Alexandria, the book has been really good do far its getting interesting little by little. My favorite part of the book right now is #286 pg.151 this is my favorite for right now because I like how Brooklyn still emails Lucca saying that life is hard for her and how shes feeling throughout the book. Brooklyn and Nico are both my favorite characters because I like how he tries to help Brooklyn feel more confident about her self.
-Haylin

Hey guys its destiny, it makes me really sad how were going to stop reading this book. I was so into it and I really enjoyed reading and honestly reading is not my thing, its something that just doesn't get my attention. Anyway how are you guys liking this book so far? Do you guys wanna keep reading of no? So far I am on page 249, Sun., Jan. 29th-Nico, this is where I have stopped and from what I understand and have read so far Brookyln seems to have found peace not specifically yet but Nico seems to be helping her little by little. While reading this book made me realize multiple things, Brookyln was really sensitive with all that was happening to her she really didn't have a mind to think but as she started to go for runs she was able to refresh her mind a lot. For my letter grade I believe I deserve a B as a letter grade because I am way ahead of what I thought I would have been. I have also actually been reading not just scamming through.

hey its me Haylin, im really disappointed how were going to have to stop reading. I really enjoy reading these type of books, i just feel like it catches my attention. i personalty dont like reading other type of books i find it boring, but when it comes to these type of books i really enjoy reading them. I am on page 211, Thurs, Jan.26-Nico. this is where i have to stop reading, i know im kind of behind i just really like taking my time on reading:). anyways i know that Brooklyn still hasn't really found a happy place to be at shes really trying her best to go out with Nico and get her mind off thing while shes with him. while reading the book is pretty easy to understand Brooklyn and why she still needs lots of time to find her happy place. from where i am right now i dont have any questions. i feel like i deserve a B even though im kind of behind im really into the book i dont skip pages at all and i really enjoy reading slow to understand whats going on in Brooklyn life.

Hi guys, I really am sorry about not posting more, and that is completely my bad. (Senior year and procrastination = terrible decision. Moral of the story is to not procrastinate, because otherwise you won't sleep once you get to my year haha)
I don't know if you guys realize that you'll be continuing in second semester or if you'll miss it during winter break (which, by the way, enjoy!), but Chasing Brooklyn will still be on that bookshelf for you when you get back. There's also a library copy, so you can check it out for winter break if you ask!
As for your guys' progress, you guys are hard on yourselves. There are 412 pages in this book, so you guys are more than halfway through it! I'm really glad that you guys are enjoying the book, and I hope that the second half stays just as interesting.
It might be a little difficult since all of our brains become mush during breaks, but make sure you don't lose track of where you are in the story or with what's happening! Otherwise, when you get back, it'll be really confusing and you might be lost if you forget. I suggest posting about where you are in the story on here and a little summary of what's been happening in the past couple of pages. That way you can look at it and dive right in without having to go back the last ten or twenty pages. This is purely a suggestion, and not at all required. (If either one of you or both of you do this, title it something like 'Where I Am & What's Happening' so that you can find it easier~)
If you guys have any questions about it, let me know, and be prepared for next semester! I'll be more frequent with posts, so keep an eye out when we get back :3
I hope you guys have an awesome break!
