 In 2018, Ulbricht began developing Silk Road, which would later become the first modern dark web market.  He believed people should have the right to buy and sell whatever they want as long as they did not hurt anyone.  From this point on he hid behind the user name "Dread Pirate Roberts"
  
Silk Road was designed to use cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin.  Due to the anonymitty of its users, it quickly became a platform to sell drugs and other illegal items. 

In 2013, after a lengthy search, the FBI finally identified Dread Pirate Roberts as Ross Ulbricht.  They seized 144,000 bitcoins, worth $28.5 million.  Ulbricht was indicted on charges of money laundering, computer hacking, conspiracy to traffic narcotics, and attempting to have six people killed. ]]> 2019-02-12 18:48:46 UTC https://padlet.com/trybeentertainment47/4gx6fass1byg/wish/330501549 trybeentertainment47 https://padlet.com/trybeentertainment47/4gx6fass1byg/wish/330505507 Language: When trying to find avenues to reach deep websites, they have to talk in code (not literal computer code). 

Use of Technology: They all use and share crypted code either made by the user or shared on forums. The code for these deep websites are all man made. 

Folkways: There are many "rules" when you operate these sights, the creators/coders have a strict regimen for not getting caught. Misusing these sites can lead to awful things, but if not, the community of the dark web will not accept you. 

Economic structure: They use electronic currency, most notably "BitCoin", an untraceable form of money that can be shared/used online easily. "cyrptocurrency" is the formal term of online/untraceable currency. 

Mores/Laws: People on these sites can range from the normal, everyday human, to the darkest people to have ever been alive. There are no morals or laws on these sites, what many people are doing is illegal, but its hard to track these people down. The reason people get on these sites is to exit all morals and release their true selves. you will find that people who use these unseen sights, are doing it to be unseen.

The dark web is man made, all by code. The only way to gain any access is to code it yourself or copy the code from another user. 

Conflict: The sense of competition on this site is not what you would expect. Its really messed up, but in all honesty, the competition on these sites is really just "who is a worse person". EX: Kill tracker

Internationalist: When on these sites, you have to "act accordingly" or hackers/coders on the website will attack you in many ways. Stalking, Identity theft, even murder.
