Badge communication is when an animal communicates using their appearance, such as their color or structure. For example, a peacock might fan out it's feathers to attract a mate or a seahorse might change color to display courtship or to hide from a predator.

I believe social behavior as a whole is super helpful for organisms in a way that it is easier to survive. Animals can survive by alerting others, changing their appearance to blend in, or just communicating emotion. Without this ability, a lot of animals wouldn't be able to do things like mate, lure in prey/food, or hide from predators. This would set off the balance of the food chain!
