Another quick and simple way to start a timer on your laptop w the smartboard is to just type "set timer for 5 minutes" in the location bar (the same space you would type in www.) and hit enter. This will automatically start a timer that will count down and show up on your screen. It isn't fancy or glittery but it is quick and provides a chime when time runs out.
