         <description><![CDATA[<div>Dollar Amount - For 2018-19, grants of a maximum of $3,000 will be awarded to person(s) currently teaching at the grades 9-12 level.&nbsp;<br><br>Description - The purpose of this grant is to support professional development to improve the competence in the teaching of mathematics of one or more classroom teachers.&nbsp;<br><br>Application process - The proposal must delineate the teacher(s)' professional development plan and address how the proposed project will improve the teacher(s)' competence and impact students' learning in accordance with adopted standards. While this grant does not fund the purchase of technology, proposals including professional development involving the use of technology to enhance student learning are encouraged. Any acquisition of equipment must support the proposed plan but not be the primary focus of the grant. Recipients must have three or more years of teaching experience in grades 9-12. Proposals must address the following: the professional development plan, how it will enhance the applicant(s)' mathematical knowledge, and the anticipated impact on students' learning.&nbsp;<br><br>The applicant must be a current (on or before October 13, 2017) Full Individual or E-Member of NCTM and currently teach mathematics in grades 9-12 at least 50 percent of the school day. No person(s) may receive more than one award administered by the Mathematics Education Trust in the same academic year. Past recipients of this grant are not eligible to reapply. Activities are to be completed between June 1, 2019, and May 31, 2020.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>Interested teachers are invited to submit a proposal. The 2019-20 MET Proposal Cover Form must be completed and serve as the top page of each copy of the proposal. The proposal must be typewritten, double-spaced and single-sided (please organize as outlined below), with margins of at least one inch on 8.5" x 11" paper. Font size must be no smaller than 10-point (Times Roman suggested), and width between characters should be normal (100%). <strong>Five copies (one original and four copies)</strong> of the proposal should be included in a single packet addressed to the Mathematics Education Trust at NCTM, 1906 Association Drive, Reston, VA 20191-1502. The application packet must be postmarked by <strong>November 3, 2018. Faxed copies will not be accepted.&nbsp; Duplicate applications will not be considered.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Dollar Amount - up to $50,000<br><br>Description - The Webb Family Foundation makes grants in the areas of education; youth development; career and workforce readiness; financial literacy; entrepreneurship; science, technology, engineering, and mathematics; digital and blended learning; and youth mentorship. The foundation supports programs and projects that target underserved children and youth. Recent grants have funded a college success program and support of charter schools working to close the achievement gap for low-income students.<br><br>Application process - New applications and grant renewals are considered yearly for a general operating support grant. The foundation hosts one grant cycle per year.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Dollar Amount - up to $65,000<br><br>Description - The Active Learner Grant posits that the structure of the classroom, as a physical place, can greatly support academic achievement.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Dollar Amount - Up to $10,000 and can be matched each year for up to 3 years.<br><br>Description - The McCarthey Dressman Education Foundation offers Academic Enrichment Grants designed to develop in-class and extra-curricular programs that improve student learning. The Academic Enrichment Grants provide funding for programs that nurture the intellectual, artistic and creative abilities of children from low-income households.<br><br>Application Process - The MDEF supports educators who are employed by schools or non-profits, have the appropriate background to complete their proposed project, have direct and regular contact with students from grades pre-k to 12th, work with students from low-income households, and are willing to collaborate with the Foundation. The schedule for proposing, awarding, and implementing are as follows:</div><div><br>January 15th through April 15th OR when 350 applicants have submitted projects - Grant submission period<br><br>June - MDEF Board of Trustees review applications and determine funding</div><div><br>July 15th - Notifications of application status are sent. These notifications are sent to the application email address. <br><br>August 15th - Grant proceeds are disbursed and are mailed to applicants.</div><div><br>Januar 31st - renewal applications are sent out to recipients to reapply OR continue their funding. </div>]]></description>
