         <description><![CDATA[<p>In PRCH-3020 Module 1, the first class session was lively as we introduced ourselves and walked through the course map. It was an interesting class session to know everyone. The major goal of the program was to highlight the differences between public and private sector supply chain management. In the session, the professor gave an introduction to the course map including Public agencies and cooperative purchasing, Broader Public Sector Directive, and Trade Agreements, SILEx Introduction, Public Procurement, and the law, Competitive Bidding, Midterm Case Analysis, Document Building Specifications and Evaluation Criteria, SILEx Project Presentations, Contract and Supplier Management and Catch-up and review.  </p><p><br></p><p>I learned more about the public agencies ( Municipal, Provincial, Federal Government, Healthcare, Education, Military Security)and their sources ( Revenue from taxes, Transfer from federal government, and Fees for licenses) </p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <title>Module 2 </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The class started with a PowerPoint presentation about different publicly funded agencies. We worked in small groups to prepare a Public agency presentation in Canada, about what they buy, and how they work together using cooperative purchasing to achieve. Anyway, our group did good research on the discussion and we got full marks on the Public Agencies Presentation. In addition, I learned about Cooperative Purchasing and its types, benefits, and challenges.</p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>In module 3, the SILEx project was introduced with a live client ( Peter Jeffs) from Western University. It was an interesting presentation about our SILEx project. Jeffs discussed all about the project and it was so helpful for understanding the SILEx. After the presentation professor gave the requirements for the project and created a group contract for our group.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Module 4, mainly discussed Risk Management and Case Analysis Review. A systematic approach to identifying and preventing or reducing exposure to any type of loss and risk management involves the tools, techniques, and strategies to recognize, identify, and classify all types of risk. Moreover, its have a formula to identify the risk of the product. The professor also discussed the midterm case analysis and group case requirement  which likely involves scenarios to apply risk management concepts. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>In Module 5, Public Procurement and the Law was the main topic discussed in class and it was an integral part of the course. Discussion on common law, means, the basis of the legal system in jurisdictions, and public procurement. Contract Law and the Law of Agency are the other topics discussed in class. The professor also reviewed module 4 at the beginning of the class. Exploration of Contract A and Contract B concepts, which are essential in the different stages and legal implications of the procurement process</p>]]></description>

Then explanation of competitive bidding, including its features and how its works with the public sector. Types of competitive bidding documents, are RFPQ, RFQ, RFT , and RFP.          <description><![CDATA[<p>In module 8,  I learned document building- specifications and scopes of work and strategic sourcing. Different types of specifications are design, performance, brand names, industry-accepted standards, qualified products, regulatory products, proprietary products, and market grade. Strategic sourcing refers to the process of determining what is being bought, whether it be products, goods, capital equipment, services, consultancy, subject matter knowledge, or construction. This section most likely emphasizes the importance of accurate specifications to meet the purchase requirements. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The class session starts with a review of module 8, which covers specifications and scopes of work. Module 9 is concerned with generating and understanding evaluation criteria. This includes the difference between qualified and unqualified vendors, it's an important step in ensuring the selection process aligns with the procurement objectives and legal requirements. Moreover, the process of qualifying bids, in which the criteria for evaluating suppliers' proposals are developed and implemented. It also classifies evaluating the responses, team rules, and meetings. After the lecture, the professor divided into groups to create an evaluation criteria chart and it was very interesting session by an in-class activity.</p>]]></description>

Every group got the opportunity to present their SILEx project in front of two Representatives from Western University. Our group also did a good presentation and received a good score on the overall project. Everyone did a well-organized presentation with professional wear. </p>]]></description>
