What makes you feel proud to be part of the YC family? Can you share a specific moment or experience?

— Our school is known to have good reputation, most students are able to abide by the school rules and we host many important events that make ourselves known to the community. For example, we have the Taiwan GEP programme which allows us to showcase our talents to different people of different cultures.

What small actions can we take as students to boost the sense of belonging to our school?

— We can work on making our school a better place, such as getting students to participate in activities (recycling campaigns, class decoration) Or simple actions like asking questions in class or encouraging your peers in different aspects.

What changes would make you feel more at home in our school?

— students: air conditioning. Our class bonding and things we do as a class (winning awards etc.)

What difference will these suggestion(s) make for our school?

— Students might feel too comfortable with the school (a.c) but having a cohesive classroom environment will let them understand the importance of their classmates and friends.

What makes you proud to be part of the YC family? Can you share a specific moment or experience?

• The school often has cca training, which allows us to work together with our seniors and juniors. We strengthen bond within each other, which makes us feel like we are at home.

• The school also holds an annual sports event, which allows us to work in different groups. We learnt the importance of teamwork and that different people have different strengths

What small actions can we take as students to boost the sense of of belonging to our school?

• We can be respectful to each other and to our school, don’t vandalise the school’s property, treat it with care. For example, during lessons in the computer labs, we should use the computer with care and not press the keys on the keyboard with a lot of force. We can also make posters to promote respect between classmates and students to teachers. Like a simple “ good morning “ will make the teacher feel respected. If you see your classmates, we should wave to them, so they know that they are recognised in this school.

What changes would make you feel more at home in our school?

• We want a slightly longer recess maybe by 5-10 mins / or later/earlier recess as sometimes a few levels have recess together and the queues for the stalls are very long, after we queue, we have very little time to finish our food, and we may overshot sometimes, causing us to be late for our lessons.

• We also want more interclass activities as it will strengthen our class spirit and the bond between our classmates. We can get to know each other better and have a sense of pride and belonging to the class.

• We also want aircon in our classrooms/ a lift in the school / lockers. Sometimes, the weather is very hot and we feel like turning on the aircon, so it would be good if we have aircon. Sometimes, students injure themselves and all the classes have to change to level 1 which is quite inconvenient even for the teachers. If we had a lift, teachers would be more convenient and they have a lot of books to carry and it’s hard for them to climb up and down with the heavy books. We also would like lockers as our bags are very heavy, but we cannot put them under our desk as other students come into our classrooms, and if they damage our books, they are not responsible.

What difference will these suggestions make for our school?

• Our school will be much more convenient and comfortable. Students will look forward to coming to school everyday to enjoy lessons.

Helping or tutoring each other on homework or a topic .eg, helping hr friend that’s having a tough time understanding a science question

• helping out with class deco . Class deco is something most if not all students in the class should contribute to . Eg , something simple like providing materials like books that you don’t read anymore at home for a reading corner in class.

• Helping teachers in need . Something like when u see a teacher struggling to carry a stack of books or worksheets , you offer your help instead of just walking past the teacher

  3. More home based learning days to be more independent and responsible for your work and more time to study and do your DIVE .

     . More canteen stalls , less queue and more variety of food to choose from , if some stalls run out of food there are still other stalls that you can get food from if you are hungry

What makes you feel proud to be part of the YC family? Can you share a specific moment or experience?

Wearing the uniform in public shows pride and unity. It reflects the connection to the schools values and showing

respect to its reputation and makes them proud. Being part of the YC family also makes them proud because of the strong sense of community and support they share. One moment that stands out is when the class worked together to organize a event. Everyone pitched in, and seeing the whole school unite for a good cause reminds them of the spirit of teamwork and kindness that YC fosters.

What small actions can we take as students to boost the sense of belonging to our school?

Performing good deeds and helping others. Simple gestures like greeting classmates and teachers with a smile, helping a peer with schoolwork, or participating in school events can make everyone feel more included. Supporting school activities, and showing appreciation for teachers and staff also strengthens the community. By being kind, respectful, and actively involved, they create a positive environment where everyone feels like they truly belong.

What changes would make you feel more at home our school?

From the feedback, having more halal stores in the school ensures that people who follow specific religious dietary laws have access to food that meets their needs. Additionally, it can align with ethical consumption practices as halal standards often emphasize animal welfare and sustainability. There are few halal stores and decreases the choices of consumption. Opening the game room at DYC restore offers a fun social space.

What difference would these suggestions make for our school?

These small actions would make a big difference by creating a more inclusive, supportive, and positive school environment. When students greet each other with kindness, help one another, and participate in activities, it fosters a sense of unity and belonging. This can lead to stronger relationships, increased school spirit, and a greater sense of pride in being part of the school community. Over time, these actions can reduce feelings of isolation, promote collaboration, and enhance overall well-being, making the school a place where everyone feels valued and connected.

What makes you feel proud to be part of the YC family? Can you share a specific moment?

I’m proud to be a part of the YC family as they make me feel part of various things and let me try out new things by providing many opportunities to further my interests. Yuan Ching is also reputable school in our neighborhood that makes me proud to wear their name on my back. Yuan Ching makes me feel included in the family in many ways. One of those is Class breakfast. I get to eat my food with my friends and that helps me to bond with them more. Our caring teachers also provide us with some snacks to fill our stomachs. I’m glad Yuan Ching does not just care about our studies but also takes care of our wellbeing and mental health by giving us this time to relax and spend some time with our classmates!
