Morning stars were a hand held sticks with a spiked ball at the end. Swords were a single hand held sharp piece of mettle that were used to slash and stab. Great swords were a two handed giant sword. A battle axe was a gigantic axe used to crush people. War axes were smaller battle axes. Archers took a long time to train. The melee weapons were useless because guns could kill you at a long range. So in turn their armor was reduced to a cuirasses and they got rid of the horse.
