Eight people, all strangers to each other, are invited to Indian Island, off the English coast. They are greeted by the butler and housekeeper, who report that the host, someone they call Mr. Owen, will not arrive until the next day. That evening, as all the guests gather in the drawing room after an excellent dinner, they hear a recorded voice accusing each of them of a specific murder committed in the past and never uncovered. They compare notes and realize that none of them, including the servants, knows “Mr. Owen,” which suggests that they were brought here according to someone’s strange plan. One by one the guests start dying off just like the nursery rhyme in their bedrooms, Ten Little Indians. When the police discover the bodies on the island, they are baffled, until a manuscript in a bottle is found, which might just solve the whole mystery.

I absolutely love this book! It is by far my favorite book I've ever read and always love the opportunity to do a book report on it. I was introduced to this book in high school, as part of an English assignment and I fell in love with it immediately. If you enjoy murder mysteries, this is the book to read. It has the best Red Herring in it, which is when it makes you think the book is going one way and then completely flips on you. So, when yo think you have it all figured out, you don't.This is an older kind of book, so I wouldn't recommending to read it to elementary students. Overall this book is a must read in my eyes and I'm even really a fan of reading, but this book makes me love reading.
