During my research about the Gila River Relocation center we learned that there is a population of over 13,00 people that were living in the camp. We also learned that anyone with a Japanese ancestry were given the choice to willingly go to the camp or were taken by force. Both of us were surprised to find out that the people the government found suspicious were taken into custody or into a "special" camp.
