A CIA pilot named Francis Gary Powers had been recruited for a top secret mission. He had to fly into deep Russia to photograph denied territory. When the sophisticated spy plane was caught on U.S.S.R radar, it was shot down and Francis was captured. He was sentenced to 10 years in U.S.S.R prison.
